If many people were watching ABC news last night we may be about to get a lot more American members!

Another US member! Here I am, a native New Englander currently living in beautiful coastal Maine. My first fast day was Saturday and I am here to stay...lots of weight to loose so I plan to be here for quite a bit.

I'm with you - born and raised in South Carolina! It's great to see some fellow Americans on here!

Husband and I are just starting the plan today...and it's a fasting day! :) Have a great day, y'all

Sister lives in New Jersey. Dad lives in Myrtle Beach. Mum, dad and sister moved there for dad's work in 1982 and never came home. I stayed in UK but emigrated to Oz, however returned to Blightly as too complicated and expensive managing international family. Poor mum passed away 2009 so we returned her ashes to the UK (she always wanted to come home but dad far too settled and American now!)

Welcome all!! Oh Rosie, I grew up in New England, and to me Maine has the most perfect beaches in the world. I think Goose Rocks is my favorite :-)

I live in Northern NJ and first heard about this diet on the ABC network. After watching Michael Mosely's documentary, my husband and I decided to give it a try. This is our first fast day. Hungry but bearable. Looking forward to a big bowl of steel cut oats tomorrow!

Saw the video yesterday and read the book immediately. First fast day today and it was a breeze. I like this!

Welcome! Yes, it's so much easier than you'd think from hearing that scary word "FASTING" ;-)

I know I must be an American since I have no idea what all these stones are that other people are talking about! Still trying to figure out the metric system. Sun has fried my brain so I'm counting on IF to generate/repair some neurons!

Hi tracie -
I am a 57 year old American female who just found out about this way of life (I refuse to call it a diet) from an article in the New York Times. I bought the kindle version of the book over the weekend, read it and am in the midst of my first fast day today. About to make the tuna, bean salad for dinner. Hungry but surviving and knowing I can eat normally tomorrow makes all the difference in the world to my mental state. I can totally see making this a way of life - I can fit the fast days around my schedule and I think I can do anything for one day especially because I can sleep thru ten hours of that day.
I hope more Americans find out about this and give it a try as we really need help in this country. I am really looking forward to the mental changes that so many people report about their attitude towards food on the non- fast days.
Good luck to all and I can't wait to be three weeks from now and seeing some results!
