So good to hear more positive news, @rawkaren xx
Looking forward to meeting @merlin and @callyanna for lunch! Also hope to get my mitts on a copy of the food and Travel mag on the way to meet them, as I still haven't seen the article!
And @manderley, would you like some mince pies again this year?
@rawkaren Oooooohhh chestnuts.... I love chestnuts, I will give it a try, thanks. I just hope that we can't taste the celery, I don't like it at all....

As I will fast on Christmas eve and New Year's eve, I am beginning to look for a festive way to do it and, of course, I need to taste them before :wink:

@ You're the devil :grin: I must admit, mince pies are my biggest weakness on Christmas day, even more than chocolates. Mince pies with a bit of vanilla ice cream and I am in a warm cosy place. Yes, I would love mince pies for Christmas, thanks :like:

I have 2 coffee machines, one espresso and one filter machine. Being a big coffee drinker, about 6 to 7 cups a day, imagine how helpless I feel right now as both of the machines don't work properly. The espresso machine, there is a big plug, the water doesn't run and the filter coffee machine, well, it makes cold coffee, I don't understand how it's even possible :shock:
So.... I am looking for a new espresso machine and I may need to take one "dolce gusto" one (do you have this brand in the U.K. ?) which I am not looking forward to as the coffee is expensive but I NEED my coffee and the more traditional espresso machines are quite a bit more expensive, I mean 40€ more, what's the deal with that ? :shock:
@manderley PM me your address again please. I didn't keep it last year!
Hey @Pennyforthem hope you had a lovely lunch with those two scamps @callyannaand
@Merlin ! What did you eat,where did you eat it,any snaps? X
Lovely lunch. Callyanna was in charge of the photos, Candy.
We went to the Chester Fields near Chester. I had a spicy bean burger with skinny fries, but left the bun!
Here we are at lunch, l to r, Merlin, PennyForthem and yours truly, callyanna!
P.s. don't know who that guy is looking over our shoulder but Merlin and I did have a steak sandwich.......
A very elegant trio @Callyanna@merlin & @pennyforthem! X
How lovely you get to meet up @Merlin, @Callyanna and @PennyForthem. You look great. :smile:

P.S.

It was tap water in the chiller..... and we could have cleared the table!
@PennyForthem I have send it to you :wink:

Girls, you look really lovely :cool: I must say, I envy you for being able to meet like that. There are really few French on the forum and too far away to organize something like that....

I put on a pencil skirt that I had in the back of my wardrobe for years and being able to wear it and not look like a roast in it is impressive.... Woaw... I hate skirts, always have and the last time I wore a pencil skirt was 20 years ago..... Isn't that cool... :cool: :grin:
GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:

1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts
4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground...
5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy.
@CandiceMarie you've had me laughing like a drain as I follow you round the forum today. Thanks honey {{{+}}}
How funny @Azureblue I hadn't heard that expression until today. Now I've heard it three times because Mark Kermode said on a couple of podcasts I listened to today. Laughing Like a drain. How can you laugh like a drain?!! You're right, though, Candy is very funny ;)
Bean xx
