Aw poor puppy, is he going to be okay with his hips for a long time, before it gets bad? I love German Shepherds, beautiful dogs.

I'm still totally in love with my fitbit. I'm only syncing to my 'puter right now, because my phone is too old (an iPhone 3 - am I the only person in the world still using one?) but getting a new phone later this week, and think that'll make it even better - will be able to check steps when out and about. Obsessed much? lol
My phone is too old as well. I sync every night on my ipad. Although sometimes at work when I walk by someone else with a fitbit and a newer phone, mine will update as well.

By boss just bought the Flex and has joined our work fitbit group. He is very active and immediately shot to the top of our leader board. Managed 26,000 steps today so I just nudged him out of 1st place. Won't last long though as he is a runner, and I'm a walker... Loads of fun and motivation.

KataMac, I've said it before...i want to marry my fitbit...too bad I already have a husband, ha!
I finally reached some daily goals, steps, miles and activity :) I don't have any steps :frown: well, I do have 2 steps out the back door but fitbit doesn't count them. .. no matter how many times I run up and down them! lol

And well done GoLinda! :star:
You ladies are really tempting me with this fitbit. Honestly, I don't want to spend the $100, because I try to look at all of my expenditures as "do I want this more than I want Paris?"

I did get a clip on pedometer really cheaply, but I keep forgetting to clip it on >.< Today I remembered by 10;30 am - the best I've done so far this week.
Umleila, enjoy your holiday in Thailand  did you continue to have sync issues with the IOS 7? Did anyone else? I didn't update yet... I always wait to here about the major problems, but I was thinking that I will this weekend unless I hear there is a significant issue with syncing

@Tracieknits, I got my fitbit One through the forum's Amazon link for $79 including slow-boat shipping. At first all I saw were black as a color choice then I saw the burgundy and it was $10 cheaper, I don't know why it was less it has all the same features but I was especially happy because I really wanted pink.

The fitbit One will also monitor your sleep, since I'm always wearing it day and night, it's been easy to not forget to use it. It also is motivational when you realize you are close to a goal to step up your game just a bit to actually reach it. :like:
Einatbl, had an initial problem syncing with IOS 7 but it's ok now. If you have a kindle on your iPad update the app before you download IOS 7. We've had to resync to all equipment running through the iPad it been quite annoying.
I don't see a burgundy one on the UK site. There's a black one, but at GBP75, that comes to $120. >.< Oh well, Christmas is coming!
Click on the link for amazon usa .. I'll see if I can find one for you! brb! ;)

haven't been around for a while - been doing the steps but not wearing my fitbit DOH.

I puppy walk for the police and have recently found out that the puppy I'm walking has hip dysplasia so they dont want him

After a lot of crying and soul searching we have decided to keep him. Although the police say they can rehome him, its one thing losing him when he goes off to do his training, but we can't let him go to another home who may not love him like we do, and get rid of him after 6 months or so because they cant cope with his dodgy hips. We've had him since he was 8 weeks old and although we wouldn't have gone out and bought a german shepherd puppy 10 months ago, he is still our dog and we love him dearly.

Anyway, fitbit ON, calories COUNTED and BACK ON TRACK!!

Debbie xx

I love that you're keeping your dog. I had wondered about dog walking for one of the animal shelters, but it is just that little bit too far from us. My daughter would love a dog, but my husband and son are allergic to anything furry.

I've had a very depressing week watching myself fall through the rankings to 17th place, courtesy of a bug. This always happens to me. Whenever I get fit, I get injured or ill. On Monday I ran round the park and wondered why it was such a struggle and by midday I was in bed with a temperature

This is the flipside of fitbit. I'm now monitoring how many steps I'm NOT doing. Roll on next week...

On the upside, I've still 5:2'd and lost .4 of a kilo this week. That's huge for me, so I'm very chuffed. Two of my three belts are unusable now and I wore a skirt yesterday that I haven't worn for 3 years
Come and join us tracieknits. You won't regret it :)

Has anyone seen this? Apparently a new fitbit on the way! This one really appeals to me, but I think it will be a long wait before I get one, if ever.

It looks like it will have the ease of the Flex, which I love. Just put it on your wrist and leave it for days.

My ultimate would be a combo of a Flex and a GPS device, so when I bushwalk, it would plot my routes. Plus, more graphs! Who doesn't love more graphs? The GPS watches all only have 5-6 hours battery life, so until they can get days, I'll stick to my Flex.
Morning girls,

Here's the thing, I've been considering getting a fit bit for, oh, well, let's just say a long time! I'm not interested in doing calorie counting but is it worth it just for walking and how well your sleep patterns are, or not?

Hope you all have a great, and fit, day

Fitbit has very quickly become a big part of the household...
My OH refers to 'feeding Fitbit' when we go for a walk, and I find while I don't say 'him' or 'her', when talking about Fitbit, nor do I say 'it', I always say 'Fitbit'.Yesterday we set off in the car to go for a walk, and a mile or so from home realised I hadn't got Fitbit on, and persuaded OH we had to turn round and go back! So OH, Fitbit and I all went for our walk...
I'm not a person who names cars etc, so why does Fitbit have a personality?!
