The new FitBit was released for ordering today....the "Force". I'm a tad jealous.

I hate charging my flex. Try not to move off my chair while its not on me. I too almost die if I forget it. I keep it in my pocket so I don't look like a poser and it still works fine. I'm still trying to work out what to do while I am biking to work. Even in my bag it measures steps.
Can you get it on your ankle so it will track your cycling as it goes around? Or you can log the time/distance biked later on the FB site or app. It will deduct whatever bogus/bounce steps were added in and track only what you enter for that time period.
Thanks for the help. I put it in my sock but it isn't very accurate. I have been using log my run then adding the cals to my fitness pal which is taken into the fitbit. I will give putting it directly into the fitbit instead. I have some friends with titbits. They do many more steps than me so I look lethargic till I remember my biking to work.
Your typo made me LOL since so many women wear it clipped to their bra; it is pretty punny. (See what I did there.)
I see what you mean. Wish I was so witty more often.
LMAO at titbits!
Hubby and I looked at the pros and cons of everything - and bought fitbits today at Target. He got the flex, and I got the one. I've done 6085 steps since I bought it this afternoon, and it's tucked safely in my bra. We read some comments online about the bands of the flex wearing out and getting grotty after six months or so, and the force has a band you cannot take off or change. Also, you cannot wear the Force in the shower. So we both decided against it - although having to wait 3 to 4 weeks and paying an extra $60 (since we're buying two) was another consideration. Hubby got the flex, and I got the one. I don't like wearing jewelry, and I really wanted something that counts stairs. We have a very hilly neighborhood, so that feature will come in handy when walking the dog.
do you guys have a group on the fitbit app?

Fantastic @Tracieknits! Send me a pm with your email address and I'll try to figure out how to invite you to the fitbit group, it's private so invite only to join.
Figured it out, simple!
Thank you!!
I see you Tracie! Welcome to the fitbit group!
Hello tracie, I can see you. On wards and upwards my dear.
Thank you! Yes, I have been absurdly sedentary. Shameful, really, Hopefully the publicity will really make me do more. Hubby can see everything I log, and I just really really really don't want to disappoint him.
I read that I'm supposed to increase my step goal each week by 500day/3500week. So it might be a few weeks before I'm at 10K or 12K. It looks like I had been doing between 6000 and 7000/day before, including taking walks >.< So this week's goal is to do 7500 per day.
I've also started logging food. My weight loss is painfully slow, and also stalled at the moment. While I strongly suspect it's my broken thyroid, I figure logging what I eat can't hurt either.
Fitbit doesn't look like the food log supports 5/2. What do you guys do about that? Just let it yell at you that you haven't eaten enough on those two days?

I hope I can join in here although I have a different activity tracker than Fitbit - the Jawbone Up. I looked at all the reviews for both the Fitbit Flex and the Up bands in July and basically picked the Jawbone Up because they were sold out of the Flex and I wanted something NOW.
One month after trying a different eating plan, without much success, I switched to 5:2 and have lost 13 lb in 8 weeks . I credit the Up band with keeping me on track. Although you don't have to count calories on non-fast days, I do. It makes me more aware of what I am putting in my mouth and how shockingly little extra it takes to go over 2000 cal per day - especially if you have a glass of wine or two or a martini....or 2
Mine buzzes if I have been sitting too long to remind me to get up and do SOMETHING... which it just did. Keep it up everyone and good luck. I'm off
