After a few months maintaining with 16:8 I felt the need for a repair day last Monday. It went well and decided to do it again today (still 16:8 the rest of the time). Didn't want to tempt fate by posting but today was ok too. I did take 100ml of full fat Greek yoghurt and 80grms of raspberries to work but have just eaten them as dessert after a stir fry. Think I'm permanently back on Monday's as repair days.
Today was going so well, until I got in a fender bender with another mom from school (she slid into me-darn MI winter weather!). Now home with a police report and have to deal with insurance stuff-my bumper has seen better days ugh. Might end up canceling this down day-my nerves are frazzled and and I'm really shaky-probably from nerves/stress and I'm going to eat something and try and calm down a bit.
Aw what a bummer SJ! So sorry to hear what has happened and hope you manage to get it sorted as quickly as possible. Such a shame if it puts paid to today's fast, just try to minimize the damage as much as possible with a comforting low cal hot chocolate drink to calm your nerves? Take care and remember you can always try again tomorrow! x
Looking good in yr pics SJ x
Sorry to hear what happened, just do whatever you need to calm your nerves - but try not to binge! But if you can stick to 500'/600 or so cals ,youve another repair day under yr belt ( i say repair rather than fast as you are obvs not needing to lose weight, just maintaineering ) :like:

I've never heard of the term 'repair' before- I like that word for maintenance down days, will have to start using that term :) Husband is home now and he just left to take the van into a shop, to get it looked at. Fortunately we have full coverage so besides a $250 deductible, it should be a go to get it repaired. Even though it wasn't my fault, I feel really bad because it was another mom from school and I know she didn't mean it.

Ok, had my planned 100 calorie yogurt and feeling much calmer now! Will still try and make this a successful repair day :)
well kinda blew it after my workout this evening. ended up at 700 cal for the day and am going to hurry to bed so i dont make any more damage!
Whoo Hoo! I thought I had gone over by a couple of hundred calories today. But it seems that homemade French onion soup before the gym (this is a back to back so both myself and my son felt the need for some salts and a bit of comfort) and a massive salad with a breaded chicken steak after the gym, still comes in under 500kcals.
Its just 5pm and I think I am already at my 500 Cals :(

Had the lentil soup, cauliflower soup, apple, orange, cucumbers, hot tea with sugar, 8 almonds :(

No dinner for me :(

Bummer bummer....
I fasted today…as per my usual deal. :)
Hi Winsome,
I don't think you should feel guilty about the prepped meals - think of the funds saved by fasting in the first place! Is M&S Marks & Spencer? Sounds similar to Whole Foods here in the states. Continued success!

Winsome wrote: Fasting today, and I'm just tucking into M&S salmon, new potatoes and watercress sauce. YUM!

I do feel very guilty about the pre-prepared meals I'm eating these days
Made it successfully to dinner. Tried a delish new mushroom bisque w/a "fast day salad" w/tuna & fat free curry dressing (20 cal) & fresh sliced strawberries w/yo baby vanilla. Came in @ 513 & I'm satisfied enough to be done for the day. See you all Thursday.
Kitchen is closed and I survived my first fasting day in quite a while, relatively well :victory: I did end up going over, at 675 calories instead of 500, but I'm pretty happy that I kept it that low considering it's been a while. I also had not factored in my Monday night ritual of going to McDonalds to kill time while my daughter is at piano lesson, and normally I'd get a fry or some sort of dessert (shake etc). Tonight I got a 250 calorie hamburger and a diet Coke :) Will have to factor that in, for Monday fasting days going forward.
I was OK yesterday and made a prawn stir fry for dinner. Think I only ate half of it so was down on my calories yesterday.

I thought I'd be fine with fish/ chicken and veg, stir frys etc on fast days but I am becoming fast bored with the same food so need to expand the culinary offerings so I don't give up!
after fasting yesterday I had no energy at all last night to exercise (I ride my horse 5/6 days a week). I could only manage 20 mins I was so out of breath! Maybe the cold (1c) had something to do with it, or the fact I had lunch then a small bowl of porridge for dinner, and normally I wouldn't eat at all till the evening bar a cup a soup or piece of fruit.
Anyway I survived :)
