Well I've made it to my fifth fast today! It's been surprisingly easy. That said, it's going to be 40C today (104F), which could throw a spanner in the works. I usually drink loads of green tea throughout the day, but not sure I'll feel like it today...hmm. Water it is, I guess. So far I've lost 2kgs, hoping to lose another half a kilo this week. Loving the 5:2 so far, best thing I've done for myself in a loooong while.

Good luck to all you other fasters today!
Only the second one up and its already 8.40 am, what is going on? I'm fasting. Happy day everyone.

Fasting is much easier in the heat, can't say i will like Thursdays 41'c, inside day, that temp is like walking around a hot oven. yuk.
Yeah, I'm in. So not looking forward to this week's heat wave.
Morning all I am in for fasting today also - hubby tried to reneg but I said I was going to do it anyway - so guess what he is also now too.....
Good luck everyone
Hi nickers, and good luck! I have been fasting in 47 degrees the last few days and find it a lot easier in this eat, just drink heaps of lime infused soda water!
I'm in Adelaide this week on my r&r, was hoping for some respite but it doesn't look like it's going to happen there either! I work up near Marble Bar and we've had 45-47 all week so I guess 41 might be considered some small relief!!!
Good luck all!
Yep i will be in after ive been to bed!
Enjoy repairing and shrinking Monday Miracles! :like: :clover: X
Enjoy yr r n r in Addy @Debs X
Good luck all, dont forget water in that heat... please send some of it to London!!! I'm in tomorrow too :) 3rd fast day. Hoping I manage it being around lots of temptation for the first time x
Can't join you today sorry, I'm going to be hanging out with the Tuesday fasters this week.
I hope you all have a good fast even those in 40 degrees, I think we're heading there later in the week.
It's Monday tomorrow so yes, I'm fasting. :like:

The temp may even reach the dizzy heights of zero degrees C :unlike: - it will definitely be a soup dinner :bowl: and lots of hot black coffee :coffee:
Yep, I'll be in - when tomorrow comes to London! I made a good start on my 2014 fasts last Monday and then spoiled it by eating too much in the evening and didn't manage another day last week.
Have just had a lovely weekend with friends in deepest Essex and, while I didn't overindulge there was wine and I definitely need to get this 5:2 train back onto the tracks, 'cos I'm in danger of starting to GAIN weight ....

Good luck folks!! :clover:
Technically, I am already into my fast because although it is still Sunday night here in the UK as I write with tomorrow (Monday) being my fast day, I won't be consuming any more calories tonight (in fact, I'm just about to go to bed for the night).

I must say, that I can feel for those of you above who are currently experiencing the effects of the southern hemisphere summer, although I would probably say that it would be easier to fast in that sort of heat as you would be less likely than normal (I have experienced temperatures of 30 degrees here in Edinburgh before, that was a very rare and one-off occurrence which only ever happens once in a blue moon), to actually feel like eating anything. For those us here though who are currently experiencing the northern hemisphere winter, it is a different story as you tend to want to eat more when the weather is colder.

Since it is parts of North America in particular which has just seen the worst of that winter weather, it is amazing to hear about those opposite extremes of weather that you can get on this planet.
Well done @nickers its my fast day so I am joining you all.

Lots of water today and an apple until the evening meal of chicken satays and salad.
Keep cool if down under.

Happy fast day everybody.
cheers
Maggie
 Yes I'm in with you @Maggiee just off for a short nap first let's make this one count well I need to deffo.
Well done Nickers! You should all move to Tasmania. We're having a heat wave too, and the temperature has already reached 19 degrees! I'm having my first coffee of the day. then it's nothing until Greek fish soup for dinner. Prawn and fish fillets in some kind of vegetable, tomatoey broth. Keep cool Aussies.
