I'm in. Just thinking about my first coffee.

A rest from food, that's a great way of looking at it Ballerina.

I'm fasting today too. I've been doing this since February and reached my goal weight at the end of April. Then I realised I looked fine and could easily lose more. So I am out of maintenance again. I had a complete fasting break over the school holiday but only put on 4 lbs - lost 2.6 lbs of that resuming 5:2 last week so this is my second fasting week after the break.

I used to either do liquid fasting (36 hours) or a have a single 500 meal at night time (plus 16:8 on non-fast days) but this time round I'm easing my way back in. So a Yakult then coffee with milk for breakfast, an apple at lunch and dal with small portion of rice at dinner.

I exercise every Mon-Fri lunch time so will be going to the gym later today in lieu of lunch.

That's one of those where I count everything I eat & drink just as if it was my very first fastday. Good Luck to us all. :clover: Sue
I'm nearly at the end of my Monday fast.
Feeling depressed as I measured myself today. I have only ever gone by scales. 33 inch waist and 38 round the hips what an awful shape.
Oh well, fast, fast, fast.

Fasting along with you this rainy British Monday. Chin up, we can eat it tomorrow, as long as we keep within TDEE!
Fasting today ... I didn't madly overindulge this weekend but the food did include an Indian takeaway on Saturday night and a very salty ham hock with dumplings yesterday so the nearly 3kg (!!!) jump in my post-weekend weight is surely food + water held on to by the sodium - please say it's so. Face definitely looks puffy.

So far just a black coffee and a herbal tea and will be drinking a glass of water every hour in the hope of peeing it out! Have signed up for a belly dancing class which is tonight to no dinner before then, maybe something small to eat before bedtime if I need it.

I'm in today! Have had a break from fasting so this is my first in over 6 weeks. I started the 5:2 in preparation of my weddding - almost gave up when my weight loss was minimal but when i went for my dress fitting 9 months after buying the size 14... I was measured with a 27 inch waist! This has certainly changed my body shape and after an over-indulgent honeymoon (of course)i have gained 5lbs and too scared to measure my waist!
So - here i am after a 6 week break, starting again with a fasting day. I'm thinking that when the 5lbs are gone, i might revert to one fasting day a week to maintain!
I'm in today. Second week of 4:3 and its been absolutely fine. Kinda weird to be eating breakfast on a weekend as I used to do 16:8 inbetween 5:2 but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

LilSmiler, your post prompted me to get my tape measure out, and I'm a 38" hip too. I'm really pleased with that as that was my waist measurement when I started, and my size 12 M&S jeans fit me fine. :smile:
I don't really know what I was expecting lol. I'm more depressed about the ratio as I hate having no waist definition!

I used to do 16:8 too but recently started needing breakfast (albeit a late one) again (on non-fast days) and now I'm used to it again. Funny how quickly the body readjusts to new habits.
Yes, I'm in today! First fast at 45 years of age. Birthday was on Friday, so I have some making up to do. Am very hungry this morning though...
I'm in today. I'm not usually a Monday kinda girl but I'm rather enjoying it today after an indulgent weekend which I really did enjoy!

Only managed one last week. I'm not quite sure what happened on Thursday but it culminated in a large pizza (which to my surprise I was unable to finish...). I have a busy few days with a business lunch tomorrow and two days of sandwich lunches as part of a training course. I might see if I can duck Wednesday's lunch by catching up on work emails otherwise this week will be a single fast too.
