Morning all and yes I'm in today, back to normal after being away on a course last week and only managed a couple of 16:8 days.

Welcome @BrightonFiona, it's funny how a big birthday on the horizon can focus you suddenly on a goal - similar thing happened to me as I approached fifty!

You'll find this forum super-supportive and helpful, ALL the questions and answers are here and there are loads of members with inspirational stories. Best of luck - remember to get out the tape measure and measure everything now, I didn't do that at the start but wish I had, it's great to compare your progress to your 'day one' stats. :clover:

Good luck everyone today, have a good one
One more fast day finished and off to bed. Yay! Managed to get through till dinner and had my version of a Thai beef salad. Am starting to modify family meals so we all eat the same thing rather than preparing a separate 300 cal dinner just for me and hubs after my daughter said that she would rather eat what we were eating. Where did I get that great idea from? Someone on our forum of course. :-)
Xxx julianna
Coming up to 1pm here and going well. Enjoying another mug of coffee. Tummy rumbling gently but can cope!
I'm done too, had my favourite Pinto bean chilli then fruit for dessert.
Goodnight all
Sleep well!
Hello I'm new to this forum and am looking forward to seeing the scales go down - I've read and heard great things about 5:2.

Cheers
MAGGIE.
Just as well I'm going to bed soon cos I'm a wee bit hungry... Oh, all right, I'm bloody starving!!!!!!!! :starving:
I'm in. Had a shocker of a weigh in after a few weeks off track. Still, it gave me the motivation my steadily tighter trousers weren't..... There is A Spreadsheet in place. Everything is easier when it's committed to Excel..... Not sure if I'll make 2 days this week due to work commitments (aka enforced 'social' eating) but that's no reason to go totally bonkers. Going to do 16/8 on other days and recover any overspend where possible.

Have a good day everyone.
Hi Everyone,
I'm another newbie, just started my first fast tday today. Its only 1pm and all I can think about is what I'll have for dinner tonight :-() I notice most of you are in Australia, hope you're all safe from the fires. I'm Australian but living in the UK. Anyway, good luck to everyone xx
Yep, I'm fasting today too and except for water and a cup of tea, I had like 2tbs of chicken breast of a ready-bought skewer (left over) and some tbs of pizza salad. Not sure they have it where you live, but you get it in the pizza shops; shredded white cabbage that is quickly "rinsed" in boiling water, vinegar, little olive oil, salt and pepper.
For dinner some hight on meat content chorizo and rösti. I only get a little bit of it....
Hello fellow fasters! I'm in today with a fast and small dinner w/ my family as the usual Monday fare! :)

Eat that tomorrow, today's a fast.

:clover: everyone!
I'm in too. Finish work shortly so hoping the evening will be a breeze.
I am in today. Beautiful autumn day here in NYC, so was able to manage a bit of a stroll en route to the office.

I've fallen off the path a bit in recent weeks - social commitments, laziness, injury - but it's time to refocus now. Onward and downward...

BrightonFiona wrote: I am today starting he 5:2 fasting diet. At 83 kilos (over 13 stone!) I'm the heaviest/fattest I've ever been and have started to wear joggers during the day for comfort ie my jeans are too tight/uncomfortable. Things have got to change - or rather I have got to improve my lifestyle. I'm 48 and would like to weigh 70 kilos (just over 11 stone) by the time I'm 50. I'm fit (I walk the dog, swim, run and play tennis) but eat and drink too much. Wish me luck!

Welcome Fiona x hope yr day going ok x plenty of help here so make yourself at home and enjoy x
