Hello from Canada and my day is just starting. My 6th fast, third week. Planning on veggies and salmon for supper. Eggs and peppers, as a sort of omelet around noon. Good luck to all Thursday fasters
Peapod, me too!!!! I had been going great guns on myfitnesspal!!! 3 1/2 weeks on this WOL and I would love to see something happening quicker than it is! I'm keeping at it as I feel good on fast days & want long term gains too but come on!!!!!!!!
Good luck to fellow Thursday fasters. 2nd fast day of the week. Having Spanish Tortilla for dinner tonight and really loking forward to it. Taking a slight break over Easter and doing a maintenance one day per week fast. Been at this since August and it really has become a way of life.
Hi all, and good luck today :clover: .
Thursday seems to be a really popular day-glad to be joining in.
This is the second fast of the week (lost count overall, maybe the 16th?) and, while I was knocking on wood as I thought this, they seem to be becoming a natural part of my life without any huge effort :victory:
It just seems a lot easier each time to distract myself, not think about food etc. but also, I just feel less hungry and steelier in my resolve! I hope to see results on the scale soon, as I am still a bit afraid to weigh, but I am delighted that something is definitely happening as I am fitting into my smaller clothes again.
Hope it goes smoothly today, all that said!
Third week - sixth fast day - constipation!

Finding this the best way to get healthy and lose weight I have ever tried- but having trouble with constipation which then creates bad feelings on non fast days. I have been eating more salad type stuff on fast days and not so much on non fast days.
Have been using senna and other laxative type things but to no avail- it seems that eating so little on two days (not contiguous) just throws my system for a loop. Hoping I start to normalize after a while. If anyone has any suggestions- I would like to be wide open !

Fasting today, 14th fast. Love the diet and at this point I rarely feel hungry or any other affects of not eating until the evening. Having a terrible day in work with far too much stress, however, so I want to eat as a comfort thing not because I have any particular desire for food. Good luck today to all the other fasters.
Dbrady, I'm exactly the same. Think part of my lack of weight loss is down to not being able to "go". Feel like my system slows down to nothing on fast days as nothing to stimulate it and then feed days come and I feel full and sluggish. I too have tried senna and still nothing! Would love to get some advice as to any magic tricks anyone out there has-please!!
Louise- I feel the same often, work stress really sets off the comfort eating impulse and unfortunately in the office there are too many cakes to hand. Yesterday was a rather awful, busy day here and I ended up eating a bun, which wasn't even very tasty. It wasn't a fast day but it was still a waste as I didn't want it at all, just thought I needed it!
I do think fasting can lead to more mindful/aware eating in general, but I don't always wait long enough to think it through.
Hope your day will get calmer, good luck with the fasting too.
I'm glad somebody brought this up b/c I have the same problem. I had always been "regular" before this diet (today is my 6th Fast Day). I end up taking Ex-Lax which I don't like to do. I drink plenty of water, which in theory should help, but it doesn't seem to. I added some Benefiber to my drinks, but that isn't helping either. On the good news front, I've lost 5 lbs in two weeks! I can really feel a difference!

A couple of "going" tricks tried by me and others I know:

- an apple before bed time
- a glass of hot water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach
- dried fruits as nibbles on feed days - that's something to do with the fiber, apparently figs have a lot of fibre, prunes also help
- more cooked veg on feed days - again the fiber content
- in general increase the fiber content in your diet, some useful tips about that here http://foodhospital.channel4.com/fibre-challenge/
- less cake and chocolate

THIS FORUM IS THE BEST !!! keep going eveerybody..you know it makes sense! x x x
Well it's now 1pm and I've been to Zumba and done a bit of housework and haven't eaten yet.
I am out tomorrow night at a birthday dinner, Saturday my friend arrives and we are going out for dinner, Sunday I'm doing roast for my dad, and today my Zumba friends invited me to breakfast on Monday.......phew that's a lot of eating.
I had my second fast yesterday, but in view of my hectic social weekend, and the fact that half of today is gone anyway I'm fasting today, otherwise it would be almost a week since my last fast.
I'm really looking forward to my cottage cheese salad tonight. It's one of my favourite foods fortunately.
Hope you are all doing ok today. X
Just had a mug of soup.....I am soooooo cold.... not sure if I will do 2 fasts back to back in future. I hate being cold !

When I get home I am going to jump into bed and pop my electric blanket on
8th one for me which means I've kept to it for one month! :victory: I'm proud of myself for resolutely sticking to the calories on those days and pretty much eating healthily (not calorie counting though, and keeping an eye on portions) the rest of the time. Don't know how much I've lost as I don't have any scales but I'm up (down?) a notch on my belt, weee!
