I'm supposed to be fasting today but am not because it's 'our' anniversary and apparently involves fizz and dinner this evening. Astonishingly I (who have nothing to do towards this great event - all being done for me) felt quite frustrated when I realised I couldn't fast today! And as I'm a regular Thursday faster it doesn't feel right. This would have been my 10th. Doing it tomorrow instead which will feel very peculiar. I'll miss that lovely Friday feeling. Stay with it Thursday people - it's so good :like:
Hi all, it's my first day of fasting today (I tried on Monday but gave up quickly). Today I am determined to make a change to my lifestyle. I am currently 11 stone and want to lose 2 stone at least so that I can fit comfortably into my smaller clothes from my teenage years!
So I've had nothing to eat since 6pm last night until 12.45pm today, which is an 18 hour fast, and I've just had 2 satsumas. I've been drinking water with a dash of lemon juice. Tonight I will have a prawn and mushroom stir fry, which will bring my total calorie consumption to 260 calories! My question is...what can I have as a snack with my remaining calories should I begin to waver tonight?

Thanks for reading, I love reading all your comments :)
Albertina, a nice reason to not be able to fast today! Happy anniversary.

I was tempted by a cuppa soup but am trying a cup of vegetable bouillon instead and have to say it is surprisingly tasty and satisfying! Could be a regular fast day 'treat'!
Morning has arrived on the West Coast...my 6th fast day. Will drink teas, coffee and kombucha during the busy day today. After my swim workout will enjoy a good soup. Sounds as if many of you have had a productive fasting day--good work. :like: Time to get moving now.
hi all
i think i'm on my 10th fast and have been trying to build up to all calories for evening meal apart from 1-2 cups of tea - my hubby always forgets and makes it with milk on a fast day - bless him
so far so good, have only had fruit/green tea and water till about an hour ago and i needed something more so i had a mug of bouillon and that has donethe trick
looking forward to steak, cauli cheese and carrots tonight and maybe an options choc before bed

good luck to all

Week 2 - 4th fast day

Today is my second fast day of the week. My body hasn't quite gotten used to it yet, although it works well for me mentally. I am hungry right now, but going to try to hold out a little longer before having some cut up veggies and cottage cheese. Trying to save most of the 500 cal for dinner time. I also am having similar problems with "going" which is frustrating. I am going to try to add in some dates/prunes on non fasting days to see if that helps. Next week I am going away on vacation, so I'll only get one fasting day in at the end of it unless I do two days back to back. How have you all felt doing 2 back to back on occasion?
Have found myself doing 3 in a row this week
It wasn't intentional and thought 2 back to back would be Impossible, let alone 3!!'
But found I had to eat a little chicken salad around 2 pm today instead of waiting for dinner as I was feeling dizzy and shaky.
Not sure if I'll do it again as I'm more than a bit bored now and am looking forward to a feed day tomorrow. Keep going fasters, nearly there now!
Oh forgot to add,re constipation... beans on brown toast do it for me!
I am on my 4th fast and after the first two i have not had breakfast and waited till dinner for my 500 calories, been fine went into town and went into a cafe where my mum had lunch and i had a diet coke.It seems very easy at the moment and i actually find it easier to eat nothing than counting calories all day as with other diets. long may it last
This is my 5th fast, and the hardest one so far. I woke up already hungry, but I'm not going to give in and say heck with it. I know hunger passes (and it has several times so far today lol). I am munching on my sweet peppers for the afternoon, then tonight I think I'll pick up a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad with low-fat Italian dressing from McDonald's (only 240 calories) as I won't have time to cook anything since we have a school function tonight.
for the fourth time (Mondays and Thursdays.) Really struggling today but haven't/won't cave in. Tummy rumbling and getting ringing in my ears. Had an apple and a cup a soup - 160 cals in total so am consuming something. Could the couple of glasses of wine I had last night have made the difference have read somewhere that alcohol consumption can make hypoglycaemia worse?
Today is my 4th fast day. I decided to try to make it to dinner today. All morning I had only coffee with 1/3 c nofat milk, tea & water. I just made a cup of instant miso soup to get me past the lunch hour but don't think I can get it down. At least I am not hungry any more !I am not sure I can make it to dinner time though. I do have an apple and some celery for back up.
This is my usual fast day but i gave it a miss as I'm at a conference till tomorrow night... Plan to do an after lunchtime till lunchtime fast tomorrow instead...

I'm strangely missing the fast today so thought i'd pop by for my daily fix...

This plan is changing me, mind, body and soul!

Goodluck everyone!

This is the first fast day that I've eaten nothing till dinnertime. I wasn't terribly hungry earlier so semed like a good idea to wait. Just had an 89cal haddock fillet and I think I'm going to leave it there for today. Have already planned my feed day tomorrow. Looking forward to it!
This is my second week to be fasting. It's true, it really is relatively easy. Although I can hear my stomach grumbling. I need to drink more water today, that should settle it down.

So many people have had such success in their two weeks, congrats to them. I have not lost anything since I started. I'm really hoping at my next weigh in on Tuesday I will see some success. I hate being frustrated.

Keep on keepin' on.
