Morning everyone (well morning in Canada) just started my second fast im going to try and do a meal supplement shake around lunch and then some veggies and eggs for dinner... since this is my second fast im not sure what will work best for me I think my next fast ill try all my calories at lunch and see how that works. Already hungry but it feels kinda good because i know im in repare mode:) Happt fast day!!
Well today is day one for me.....and I am struggling. There is only so much water/fruit tea/black tea/bovril that I can stomach, and now Ive got a headache starting. Great. Ive chosen not to eat anything today until tonight, when Ive got a M&S ready meal to eat. I never buy ready meals, but thought it would be easier at the start for me, as the calories are all worked out for me.My meal is 360cals, so what I want to know is, can I bulk it out with unrestricted steamed veg, or do I need to weigh that out too? :?:
Seems to have a been a hard fast for some of us today! I usually manage to go all day just on coffee and water but today I was starving this morning and had some Belvita breakfast biscuits! Was just going for 1 but all 4 and the whole 232 calories had gone before I knew it!

Then a bit later I had a cuppa soup too!

I have just under 200 calories let for dinner so just a small piece of cod and some veg I think!!
Wondering if the brain cells will feel a bit snappier as I weather today's fast...changes in weight and waist seem relatively easy to measure, not so sure how to judge the cognitive benefits that will hopefully accrue from IM.
Started off my fast day with a bowl of thin oatmeal and a few strawberries. Will have genmai-cha, coffee and kombucha to keep going during the long day. After an evening meeting and a swim, I'll have some soup to finish the day.
Fasting today. I'm working late, so I should be able to keep busy. Looking forward to some vegetarian chili tonight.

Week Three Fast Two. Definitely getting easier, and skipping breakfast seems to work OK for me. Porridge for lunch, and poached eggs on one slice of toast for tea. Holding on to 100 calories so I can have something else later should I feel the need.
Slight headache for some of the day, not sure what causes this as I am keeping my liquids up. Good luck, and keep out of the kitchen!
Also fasting today, this is my second fast day... the first one (last Friday) was spur of the moment, so I wasn't prepared. This time I knew exactly what and when I would eat, I spread my calories over the day, I don't think I could handle waiting until 5:00 to eat. I read the book quickly last Thursday on my kindle and was hooked, started my first fast day last Friday and it was successful. I am looking forward to losing weight!! Oh yeah.. we are expecting a foot of snow in central South Dakota this week. Is it Spring yet?

Maybe try some protein with your lunch...

Just starting sixth week on diet I like Monday as a fast day after the weekend of eating and drinking normally. Monday's are also a gym day and I do mix of classes for 2 1/2 hours including Cardio and Pilates. I find that fasting does not restrict my energy levels in fact I seem to have more energy ( I am 65). Weigh in tomorrow lost 5lbs by last Tuesday but clothes now feel looser,so hoping for more tomorrow.
I agree it feels pretty hard today. This is week 11 for me... so fast day 22. I still dread them and can't wait to go to bed in the evening to wake up and eat again. (though I normally manage til lunchtime the following day). A lot is psychological, I think. Have managed not to eat anything so can have my evening meal and a possible snack before bed! good luck all.
This is my third fasting day. Last Monday and Thursday I fasted. Found it wasn't that difficult, although I like to have a glass or two of wine in the evenings, but decided to have some decaf tea instead.

It's a little after noon and my tummy's rumbling, but I will try to hold off until I can have dinner with my family tonight. Last week I ate a banana at 10am then a small amount of broth-based soup for lunch and a dinner of broccoli, salad, and a very small bit of pork.

Good luck!
6:50pm...... Last stretch now
I have spent some time reading about the 5:2 system and looking at some of the many postings and today I am starting my first fast! It is also our wedding anniversary so we went out for a healthy lunch. I plan to fast from 1900hrs Monday through to 1900hrs Tuesday and again on Friday. :victory:
This is my 2nd fast day, I suppose. The first went well, but in between then and now I had a stomach bug and ended up with several very low cal days. It's a bit harder than the first fast day was - I'm a bit bored at work today so I can feel my hungry tummy!
