Fasted today. Had mackerel salad for my one meal and was able to resist fish and chips at lunchtime. It was a staff training day and everyone decided to have take away and I resisted!! This would never have happened before I began 52 ing. I am quite amazed. I hope the scales reflect this amazing feat tomorrow!
Mmmm...just had a lovely 3 egg omelet complete with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and a sprinkling of cheese. Yummy!! :eat:
Waited until 2PM and then had a light lemon Greek yogurt for 100 cals and stirred in 100 cals of assorted nuts. So I have 300 cals left for the day. Some sort of protein and a few veggies no doubt.
Today is my first day back fasting after a couple months off. New month, new mindset, and hopefully a new bod for summer!
I am having a great fast day. I have really enjoyed it which amazes me. We had a calorific wednesday so fast day Thursday feels right.

Today I have eaten 3 small satsumas (75cals) and had one cup of coffee with sweetener and a teaspoon of coffeemate (19cals - not bad). Tonight is a 2 medium egg ommlette with 6 mushrooms, 2 tiny tenderstem broccolli pieces, 2 grams of butter and 10 grams of cheddar with a minature tin of beans (total 321 calories). Leaving me enough calories for a treat size packet of cadbury's buttons at 75 calories. Total for the day 490 calories = Under 500 for I believe the first time (I've got close before but never under). :grin: I'm so happy.
My first fast day today - cant believe I feel so ok after only 520 calories - looking forward to going to bed :)

I'm also fasting today! Had a greek salad for lunch, I'm sure it was low cal but I hate when I don't have an exact, accurate count. Also had a miso soup. Probably some coffee now and then a veggie burger for dinner. Good luck to all! Definately getting easier, I don't think about food unless I see someone eating it!
Well, I didn't, but there's always tomorrow...
Finishing up my second fast day here.

Late lunch: Greek yogurt and blueberries (240 cals)
Dinner: Grilled chicken tenders and green beans with slivered almonds (265)

Total cals: 505

Not too shabby :)
I fasted today: 6 weeks in and things have generally gone well. Something happened today, tho, that I could use some help with.....I've normally split my 500 cal. between breakfast & lunch, then only liquid until breakfast the next morning. At breakfast, I have a chai.

This morning, I decided to shift to eating my calories at lunch and dinner. No food until 11:30a, but lots of water. No chai. As the morning wore on, I began to feel poorly: headache and fatigue. I ate lunch (baked beans) and continued to feel worse. When I found myself almost falling asleep at my desk, still with a headache, I decided to give up and go home.

Once home, I had a chai at 3p and took an hour's nap. Then had dinner (grapefruit and a hard-boiled egg) around 7p. I feel a little better, but still headache-y and tired. Any ideas as to what this is about? I really think I'd like to switch to lunch & dinner eating, but am worried about how this affected me.

A couple other details: I ate really poorly yesterday (kind of unusual for me). Popcorn, candy, fast food. Could this be part of the problem? And could lack of morning caffeine impact this at all (I'm not a coffee drinker and don't particularly care for tea without milk & sugar---that's why chai works so well :smile:

Thanks for any advice anyone can give.
rubylucy, sounds like caffeine deprivation to me. Any chance you could develop a taste, or at least a tolerance, for black coffee or unsweetened tea with no milk on an empty stomach?
Thanks, Bruce! OK, it sounds like lack of caffeine could be the problem. I don't think I can hack coffee (I don't even like mocha ice cream! :lol: ), but I could work on developing a taste for plain caffeinated tea, just to get me going in the AM....
Yeah it's either that or stop drinking caffeinated beverages altogether for a couple weeks, but that's just crazy-talk! :-)
