Happy Birthday Suchard! Have a great night! :present: :cake:
Happy birthday Suchard, enjoy you night out.

I was feeling really sorry for myself at tea time when everyone else was eating but I'm fine now - I've reached the point of no return, so all is well.
I've done it! Well I now know I will. Inspired by so many people going for the liquid fast I decided to try it. I haven't actually felt any hungrier than I do on a normal fast day! Feeling very pleased I coped especially as I have a nasty cold at the moment. Looking forward to weighing myself tomorrow and to breakfast!
Well done everyone and happy birthday Suchard!! Birthdays are definitely not the days to fast - enjoy the wine!!

I have found the fast today extremely easy. I know I always say I find it easy, but I ate loads yesterday and was expecting to have to deal with hunger pangs today but none came.

I've concluded that I ate thoughtlessly yesterday because I was so busy (it was all grabbing stuff on the run). I wasn't actually overly hungry, just grabbing without thinking. Because I've trained myself that I 'just don't eat' on a fast day, my body seems to just accept it and get on with it without complaining.

I've been mainly on autopilot this week so it seems I need to try giving the autopilot more specific instructions for tomorrow's non fast day - ie, eat some, but say no if you're not actually hungry and don't have sugar or carbs. Hopefully it will respond as obediently as it did today when the instruction was simply 'don't eat'.

Sorry if this sounds a bit surreal. It's been a weird week!!

You've summed it up perfectly - thats why I like this liquid-only ; once you're past evening meal time, you feel no worse than you would have done if you'd had your 500 cals, and great sense you've done it.
Yep agree that once past teatime you're on the homeward stretch. I had a serious wobble after putting my daughter to bed - my husband texted me from work to tell me that he was eating a Mexican burrito and I started to drool. But I've stuck it out and my mind is remarkably clear and I seem to have gotten that familiar fasting spurt of energy. Now I hope I can actually sleep properly tonight.

But I doubt I'm going to eat. Yippee!
Redhead can I hijack this thread to ask you a) are you still wanting to lose weight b) are you losing weight still c) will you continue with extended fasts in maintenance?
Yay !

Reached my first milestone - I'm 69.0KG this morning - back to my weight last March, which I achieved after 15 months of following low carb/low cal. I stopped recording my weight after that, and when I recorded it this Jan, I was 76KG, so I guess I gained those 7KG over 9 months. And now, I've lost them in 4 months ! So now onwards and downwards to discover unchartered territories!

Really wish I could find my weight records from old PCs/diaries - I'm going to go on a hunt today, I really can't remember what I have weighted over the last 20 years, although I do have a memory of being 9st 10lbs in my 20s, long before I got married, so maybe that should be my target.
Minu well done! I made it to 36 hours too and have dropped 2 lbs this morning, so am now 3lbs under my target goal. Quite happy with this as I'd like to lose a few more lbs to give me wiggle room. See you all next Thursday

Bssh, fantastic result! If you're 3lb under you should check out the maintenance section. It seems a little bit of trial and error is required to refine it. Re your questions:

I'm 10 stone 3lb at the minute and my target weight is 9s 12, so another 5lbs to go. Expect it'll take me another couple of weeks.

I'm still losing weight - I've been reporting a slight slow down because on 19 April I hadn't lost weight, remaining the same as the week before. But just looking at my stats I'm still averaging around 1.6lb a week. I lost a full 2lb last week and the same the week before.

When I reach my target weight I plan to do one water fast per week to maintain.
There's some good posts on this thread - well done Bssh and Minum - good news from both of you :like: Many thanks for all the birthday wishes - great evening out last night with the girlies. Couple of glasses of wine and shared a pudding, so that's not too bad  However, my trend this week (weigh in day tomorrow) is upwards - weighed in last Saturday morning (as usual) then on Sunday I'd gained 3 lbs and I don't remember having a bad day on the day before - so what went on there then  Have tried to compensate with 2 x 36 liquid fasts this week and am doing a 500 fast today, but I think I'm going to have put on this week - not happy about that :frown: Will be back here on Monday for a 36 liquid only fast - and will do another one next Thursday too. Have a good weekend everyone and see some of you back here next Monday ? - on another new weekly thread (I presume)
Another milestone!   2lb off this morning which means a total loss of 1st 7lb which takes me to 12st 2lb (I'm also 5'8"). Really pleased with that. I was somewhat nervous getting on the scales this morning expecting to put on after the weekend and my clothes didn't feel as loose as they had. I have however put on 2.1% of body fat which I guess explains it. Must exercise more. :frown:
wildmissus I'd have thought that extra "body fat" is actually water weight as don't those body fat scales find it difficult to differentiate between water and actual fat?

Redhead thanks for responding. I most probably will go down to one water fast a week too but for now I'm actually enjoying still doing 5:2. My weight isn't in dangerous territory at all so I figure I will continue losing so long as I look and feel okay.
Work really gets in the way if your online social life doesn't it? Lovely to catch up (in the bath - too much info?!!) and see his well everyone has done this week! I liquid fasted Monday and Thursday this week and am off to boots for a weigh in later i have decided to do one if their full analysis weigh ins each week on Saturday morning. Will post / blog results later - am really excited, good it lives up to expectations :)
Suchard007, I usually weigh in on a Friday - it's the morning after my second fast, but I have tried a few sneaky weigh ins on other days and I find it varies wildly during the week with no correlation to 'bad' or 'good' days beforehand. It must be water/ food weight rather than fat so don't worry. Yesterday I looked back over all my stats and found the overall trend to be much more consistent that I felt it was week to week. So while it's useful to weigh in weekly. I think we should only draw conclusions on perhaps a monthly basis to give perspective.

Ourb, looking forward to hearing your 'full analysis' results! I've never been able to summon up the courage to stand on one of those big machines! Let us know what different things it tests.

I'll be water fasting again on Monday. Will try to remember to start a new weekly thread if no one else does.
