I'm in again - fasted today. Doing Wednesday, Friday and Sunday next week - going to be tough with a Fri and sun but Tuesday is my birthday and I ain't going to fast then!!
I'm in, Monday and Thursday. This evening I made lamb, spinach and potato curry from the Hairy Dieters recipe book and served with nan bread and onion bahjis - delicious, that must be my favorite recipe from the book. I'm working tomorrow and intend giving the family reheats. I don't have a problem with feeding the family on a fast day any more, it's a bit like when I worked in a bank - all that money but I knew none of it was mine!

Thanks B&W for starting the thread and putting the links in. I assume that adding the links is as simple as copying them from the browser and pasting them onto the post, not entirely sure as I not done it yet.

Just about.

Copy the link from the browser, but before you paste into your post, you need to click on the URL button, just above the edit area. This turns the link into a 'clickable' link. Exactly as you do with 'Quote'.

I've been doing 500 cals (evening meal only) every Monday & Thursday and been losing the lbs steadily! But after reading about 36 hr liquid fasts - I'm going to give it a go for the first time tomorrow! Think it will suit me as I manage all day on liquids with no problems at all - until I have my meal & that seems to trigger my hunger pangs! Sooo looking forward to my first all liquid fast tomorrow! :)
I'm in today. Last week I did 2 36 hours water (and green tea), but really pigged out on the other days and put on about half a kilo. It was total binge eating, loads of chocolate and other sugary food. :(
So this week I'm going to do Mon-Wed-Fri, because the weeks I did that I seemed to be more "sensible" on my off days. I'm going to water fast Mon and Wed, because so often that evening jus triggers more hunger. Friday evening I'll see how how I feel, and either have 400 or so calories, or not.
Seem to be a few of us not losing even though doing 36 hours. I know mine is what I'm eating on the other days, wonder if it'll settle back into sensible eating on the other days? Hope so :)
Oh, just measured my waist, and that's down 1 cm, so maybe the increase in weight is added muscle, seeing I upped my HIT?
I will be joining you today for my first liquids-only fast, have been thinking about doing this for a while and want to see how I go. As I have had all my fast day calories in the evenings since I started, I don't expect it to be too difficult to go without food that little bit longer but we'll see. In general I have enjoyed fast days and look forward to not having to worry about a meal at all. At this stage I'm thinking of doing one liquids-only day a week, and Monday sort of seems like the best choice.

Thanks to you all for sharing your experiences here, and for the support with this thread!
Good morning world,

It is a beautiful day here in the sunny Midlands but I don't expect it to last. 13 hours in but as I'm only doing half with you, and riding side saddle the rest of the way in support, here's to a great 36er for you all. I will pop back later and see how you are all doing.

I'm at 4pm, a couple hours off 24 hours, and all is well. Lots of water, one green tea, a nice long walk in the middle of the day, on track for slipping into a lazy evening of reading in a couple of hours.
Good morning. It's 9:30 in Riyadh and I'm on my first cup of green tea. I've noticed a few people on the thread saying that they were hungrier the day after a liquid fast. I found the opposite to be true, or maybe I was making more of an effort to reign myself in.

Have a good one today everyone :)
Hi All

Joining you in a liquid 36er. Its 630 pm here in NZ and I last ate at 8 last night so not long to go until bed time and then its all over!!
This 36 hr thing is getting easier, one fast at a time.....
 Morning folks, I'm Joining you all today. Very busy week this week, 2 teenage house guests and 2 birthdays in this house so all will be busy busy busy! Expect it should make fasting easier. Beautiful day here too.
Hmmmm I wasn't going to do water only as I have only done one and found it very hard but reading this thread has inspired me! Go on then, I'm in,25 hours to go.....
Go for it Abbie. It's just like when you started 'normal' 5:2 - it gets easier the more you do it. If you really do feel rotten you've still got calories to fall back on.

As doodle said a lovely day up here. The kids are getting ready for school, I'm supposed to be getting ready for work, so just the usual Monday morning so far.
Good morning!
Its always nice to wake up and find that you've already completed the first 12 hrs of your fast :P

Anyways off to work now :) Not been hungry so far!
