Hi everyone, just a quick catch up with you all and it seems to be going fine. I am now coming up to 19 hours and will probably break my fast in about an hour but I will still be on the road with you all, cheering you along, good luck.

P.S. I don't do 36 because I lose too much............... no need to throw those buns at me like that, I can't help it!
I'm so cold. I've had 3 herbal teas so far to warm me up but the only thing it's done is given me extra trips to the loo. I think I know what I need - I big hug from a warm cuddly man but I can't find any obliging men. :frown: OH is at work and he is only warm and cuddly when he's not grumpy. I guess I'll have to go back to work and get the hoover out or move furniture around (I work in a local furniture shop).
19 hours in now and Chilly, chilly, chilly....My hands are like ice. I don't feel quite bad enough to accost strange men wildmissus. Gonna go with your other cure and try some peppermint tea.

This is my first liquid fast, are you normally cold doing this? I find I'm not this bad on a 500 cal day.
Hey just checking in on my lunch break - my tummy is rumbling away -not good! Wildmissus -have you ever thought of taking a hot water bottle to work?
My first liquid fast today. I managed to last the day with mostly water, I had a coffee at lunch time and clear soup at dinner when the OH and toddler were tucking into their delicious dinner! That was the hardest part I think, watching them eat lol.
Anyway, it's 11pm here so I am off to bed :)
Hi everyone
in for my usual monday 36hr liquid fast, just in from work; no problems so far.
Well done Mardae
Most people feel its better to get in a routine with the low calorie fast days for a month or so before starting the 36hr liquid fast. If we jump right in to the deep end we will sink or swim. If we swim great but most sink which is disheartening.

Good luck everyone
I am feeling really cold as well and its quite a bit windy today :(
But overall, the fast is going good. Just came back from work and have only had water so far :)
Going to get some tea with milk and honey now, I'm gonna take my time before moving on to 0 cal fasts.
Few people seem to be finding it tough today. I've just watched a film on YouTube called Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. It is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen - second only to Eat Fast Live Longer which obviously has changed my life.

A new member, BlueSkye, pointed me to it. I'm definitely going to look into juice fasting now and juicing in general. I haven't much more weight to lose but I'm getting much more interested in healthy eating for health benefits now and this has given me a whole new area to research.

It will be interesting to all of you who are liquid fasting with more than water. It lasts an hour and a half so I recommend you watch it as a diversionary activity at the toughest point in your day.

Seriously it is WOW inspirational!

Thanks redhead! I will watch it at dinnertime instead of thinking about food :)
Word of advice. Do not cook a roast dinner for your family whilst on a liquid fast. The smells are driving me insane!!!!
Re:Liquid fasting week beginning Monday 13th May

Wish I had read this earlier today! My TDEE for a fast day is 351 cals!!! I hardly need to bother eating. Today I have had a black Nespresso coffee, 3 mugs of weak green tea, 1 litre of water, a small cooked carrot (leftovers), 47g lettuce, a tomato, cucumber slices and a mandarin. MyFitnessPal calculates that at 108 cals. I was racking my brain as to what to have for dinner later and am not hungry and quite often am not hungry until bedtime on fast days. So the idea of only having liquids on fast days is really appealing. I will attempt it on Wed to see if I can cope without eating and stay on liquids for 24 -36 hrs. Hope it whittles away a few cms from my waist.
LadyJane, I don't think I'm any colder than I would normally be on a fast day, I think it's just cold in general today.

Abbie, I wish I had thought of taking a hot water bottle to work - as it's my feet that suffer the most I could easily sit at my desk and no one would know. Better than a man any day!

Just about to put the dinner on for the family and I am aware that this is the first time that I don't feel hungry at dinner time. Once they are eating I'll walk up to my pilates class, an hour there and then a three quarter of an hour detour walk home along the beach. By the time I get home, do the ironing and have a bath the day will nearly be done.
FAILED! I made olive bread yesterday (foolishly) and ate my son's crusts whilst he ate his soup. Then, seeing as it was already game over, I had half a slice with my own bowl of soup for dinner. Oh well! I felt really cold all day, and hungry, whereas I don't usually feel as hungry as that on normal fast days.
Hi Wildmissus,

If you have access to a microwave oven at work you might benefit from wheat bags, they are safe and easy to use, I even have a pair of wheat bag slippers, bliss on a cold day. I got mine from Dunelm mills and they are not expensive.

A walk along the beach sounds wonderful, even in the cold so enjoy it and keep up the good work, :like:

Got through cooking the kids tea, which I wasnt looking forward to. I'm still freezing cold, but bored of drinking black tea. I'm going to make a hot water bottle, and find something good on TV - I've got all my jobs done today, so can have a really easy evening.

Hardly failure imcountingufoz, home made bread and soup is a pretty good fasting day !
