Happy Birthday for tomorrow, and unless you are the Queen and have multiple birthdays then a birthday treat day is not going to derail you. Which is what I told myself last Saturday when I sat down to my Birthday dinner of many course and many wines :like:
I'm in, too! Like a previous poster, I had pizza (with some veggies) and ice cream for afters last night. It was so good, especially after mowing the lawn! So far today, a cup of tea. Just starting, so a ways to go until supper.
6th fast day today.
Don't know if I'll hold out all the way to dinner, hadn't planned to, but have found I'm eating later and later too.
It's a rare nice day so have been out in the garden, mostly staring in dismay at just how tatty it looks after all these weeks of awful weather.
Always drink water, and have coffee black anyway.

Just looked on a tin of mackerel in tomato sauce and it's only 120 cals for the whole tin, wow, I could have that on 3 or 4 Finn crisps when I get too ravenous!
Working on either a veggie moussaka or aubergine lasagne for dinner, juggling calories. Will post whatever I come up with once we've eaten it
Beth, you're hungry because of the Shredding, I'm sure of it. Hold out as long as you can - you know the hunger switch will make it worse...

Glad you like it! Gin is the miracle cure for many a problem :)

Yep! I am having a quiet day at home with my son, and there are biscuits in the biscuit tin. This is a dangerous time. I need to do something productive, like housework, to take my mind off it.

It's dangerous, isn't it?! I've got choc digestives and cashew nuts downstairs and I'm in revising all day :( A cup of tea helped, though, and I had a little honey in it to avoid the blood sugar crash I had the other day. Must not give in to temptation!

Must be! I haven't been this hungry on other fast days. Well at least it means the shred is having some kind of effect on my body, just got to hope it means less fat
I'm fasting today. It was a planned fast day, but also would have been a fast even if today was meant to be a feed day since I've managed to pick a sickness bug up from somewhere and feel god awful!
Hopefully the long hard day at work will distract from thoughts of food; I chew sugar free gum and drink a lot of fizzy water - seems to get me through until home time; good luck!
damn, not doing so well today, caved and had a LARGE choc and walnut cookie and then a banana at lunch
think i will still keep to planned evening meal and just count today as a low cal day

Pffffff....I'm hungry:( Haven't eaten all day. One hour and then...dinner:) Looking forward to eat my 500 calories.
Have a good fastday!
Good luck all, like me, on a low calorie day! I have made it easier on myself by having a really satisfying smoothie from the latest book I have got: Simple Healthy Smoothies For The 5:2 Diet by Emily Hanson.

Here is the recipe, in case you want to try it: 120ml(4fl.oz) fat free vanilla yogurt, 60ml(2fl.oz) skimmed milk, 84g(3oz) frozen cherries,84g(3oz) frozen raspberries, couple of drops vanilla extract,60ml(2fl.oz) water. Comes to 172 calories.

It felt more like a reward than any sort of deprivation!
My husband has just pointed out that I have done 3 fasting days instead of 2 in the past seven days . Mustn't let it become a habit!
I'm on my second fast day of the week having also fasted yesterday. So far it is not as bad as I thought it would be, went for a long swim then did a core conditioning class before eating "breakfast" a bowl of porridge. However going to a birthday tea for a friends daughter where cake will be offered so have to resolve to stay strong then will have a huge salad later.
Good luck to all
Vegetable Curry with Slim Rice eaten and enough cals left for a low calorie hot choc before bed. I've had a pretty good day apart from a really sore throat courtesy of my son :(
Friday tomorrow and the start of the weekend
