I'm thinking I may join the liquid fasting club on my next fast on Wednesday, today I am testing to see if I can get through to my evening meal with nothing but liquid, hopefully on Wednesday I can extend it so I skip that too.
So far I'm in, but not sure if I will be able to do 36 hrs as we have some friends over and don't really want to explain the water fast so might have to have a small dinner if they stay. So I will do 500 cal fast instead. Lets see what happens.
Good luck everyone today - I'm moving my fast day to tomorrow, when I'm back in the office. I'm doing everything I can to keep moving today, lots of housework, gardening, and going out for a walk later to make the most of this lovely sunshine. And typing this standing up, as I'm planning not to sit down again till this eveening
Wildmissus My Son and three of his children were at that open day and they has a ball the beautifully day was a bonus. I am in today for my 4th Monday liquid fast I try to only have various teas without milk and if I really need it a cup of Marigold bullion before I go to my Zumba at 7.30pm. I find the salt gives me a boost. On a Wednesday I have a 300 cal meal in the evening usually a prawn or chicken salad.
Hi all,

Today is my first fast day after reading up all about the 5:2 diet last week. I a opting for not eating anything on my fast days too as I believe it is the best way after researching. Your body goes into true fat burning after 18-24 hours of no food according to what I've read so I don't want to ruin that by eating. I also think it's good for your colon to fast liquid only to give it a chance to process everything you've eaten previously.

I think mentally too I find it easier to not eat at all as I have always been a binge eater and the 'once I start I can't stop' saying is definitely true lol

Slept for most of the day as its a bank holiday - looking forwards to b/f tomorrow!
Good luck on your first day gogochat :)

I didn't make it today. I've had a bad headache all day and at about 6pm I had a sandwich. It's still a fast day because I'm under 500 cals but not a liquid one unfortunately.

Tomorrow is my weigh in day. I had not lost anything last week and I have a feeling it will be the same tomorrow. We will see.

How's everyone else doing? Hope you had a good day and your fasting went well.
was supposed to do liquid fast today but was really hungover. So started my first liquied fast at 6pm tonight. I will do liquids only til I wake Wed morning. I am going to do tea, coffee and stock cube and water. Once I get through the first couple I will do just water.
This is the first time I've had chance to sit down today and it's nearly bed time, so that makes it another successful liquid fast day.

Nessie, my oldest daughter was sailing on a single handed dinghy in the harbour and then joined the cruisers for the parade of sail into the Moray Firth. I was so proud of her as it's the first time she's sailed in the open sea. And just for the record for anyone else who may read this it was 21C in Nairn, Scottish Highlands on Saturday!!!
Well done to your daughter and wow, that's a lovely hot day for Scotland!
I'm breaking my fast right now with Shakshouka (eggs poached in tomato). Delicious!
Umleila, a fast is still a fast - you would have done 24 hrs, so all good!
Wildmissus Well done your daughter, Isn't it a joy to see them spreading their wings.
Ooo I'm soooo looking forward to my 36hr liquid fast! Last ate at 7pm Monday 27th, liquids all day tomorrow until late breakfast on Wednesday. I've truly over indulged since my last fast last Thursday - feel really sluggish & bloated (yes haven't been to loo since Friday :(( TMI I know sorry!) so I know all those liquids tomorrow will sort me out! Good luck to all!! :)
So I was planning on doing about a 48hour fast meaning I would break tomorrow morning, but I have a terrible headache and slept poorly last night so I'm soooo very tired. Plus the show that I'm doing lighting for opens tonight and I want to make sure that I can focus on the cues...
I don't know guys - any tips? Should I push through until tomorrow for that sense of achievement or break my fast at lunch today and just do 36hours?
I felt rotten yesterday Freddi and did end up eating. To be honest it didn't really help and I think it was not fast related. If today is really important and you think that fasting may effect your performance then I think maybe you should postpone it.

Im not very good at maths, but not sure what you mean about just 36 hours as I think that is what most people mean when they do a fast.

Hope you feel better whatever you choose and break a leg this evening :)
Morning all - I'm in today. Last fast was last Wednesday so this one is much needed. I've got a hangover and bad nights so not a great start, but looking forward to feeling great tomorrow.

Good luck everyone today
Hi Fredi, make sure it's not just an excuse to break your plans which means you'll be disappointed with yourself. Last night my head was bouncing so I just took a couple of paracetamols with water - problem solved and still a 36 hour liquid fast so mission accomplished. If you do feel rotten and firmly believe that eating will help then of course go for it.

Minumonline.....wishing you good luck as it sounds like you need it.
