Hi everyone
Iam in today
like Minumonline my last fast day was wednesday (usual days Monday/Thursay). We had friends staying for a few days over the bank holiday. I put on about 2.5lb so hopefully today and Thursday will get me back on track.
Good luck everyone, off to work soon
I'm in for today. It has been two weeks, I think, since my last 36 hour liquid fast. Last week life got in the way and I wasn't able to manage any liquid only days.

I am looking forward to it because I feel disgusting after a long weekend of overindulgence. I am hoping that after today I will be back in control on my non-fasting days. I try to avoid sugar and wheat, but it seems that is all I ate all weekend. I am paying the price now...
Hi Umleila and wildmissus,

I was attempting to make it 48 hours, just to see if I could. I decided I couldn't :P

I did make 36 hours as usual though, so I'm not too disappointed in myself. I've decided that I'm not going to push this week too hard, as 'show week' is stressful enough without stressing out my body harder than usual. That said, I'm still going to try and fast on Thursday.

Thanks for the support guys!
gillymary, how many calories do you calculate for 250mls of your homemade strained broth? I baked some fresh chicken bones i.e.- carcus with no skin and little meat (I bought from Redlea chickens $2 a kg]. then I simmered for 3 hours with a little salt and strained. It is delicious and it tastes like roast chicken in a cup! Do you think 30 cals would be too little? thanks : )
So happy as I'm in bed now and this was my first ever liquid fast-unplanned. I just thought "I think I could go without the meal I had in the freezer"
Hi Juliana
I work with veggie broth and I don't eat chicken so I could not say. Sorry can't help but maybe google. I figure the more it is like a classic stock eg watery the less calories. Also I use my fitness pal scanner to estimate calories.
Can anyone else help julianna here with her chicken broth calculations?
Hi Julianna. This link might help you...

And congrats on your 36 hours Fredi :)
Hanging in today. Not been too bad, but definite hunger pangs this afternoon

Easy evening tonight as youngest is away for HT so I can just put my feet up and watch TV.

Hope everyone else is doing OK
2 mugs of marmite are helping me through early evening. Missing breakfast and lunch was no problem but feeling hungry now. I'm sure some of this is habit. I expect to eat at this time of day. Still find it better on liquids than having a small meal. Somehow knowing that I'm not going to eat at all is simpler. My porridge will taste good in the morning!
I'm in for another Tuesday 36 hours - although it may be the only one this week! I am going to try for a 24 hour one on Thursday but as it is half term, I want to be as flexible as I can. As it is now early evening, and have made the Hairy Bikers Marsala Chicken (marinating in fridge for tomorrow) I feel really pleased with myself ! (smug smile!!) but I won't be late for bed as I find this time of the evening one of my weaker moments and can easily give in to a glass of wine!
Walked in to the house tonight to the smell of egg fried rice - my eldest had cooked me dinner  Felt terrible turning it down, but I have put my portion in the fridge for lunch tomorrow, and thanked him profusely. I couldn't sit with him while he ate it, I had to go and distract myself elsewhere.

I feel I'm over the danger now, and can relax and enjoy my evening with a bit of knitting.
Hope the rest of your fast went well minumonline :) I'm going to give it another go after not quite making it on Monday. It's 9:00am and so far so good.

Saudi weekend tomorrow and Friday and I'm looking forward to my eating days and hoping I won't go overboard. I didn't yesterday and feel good on it :)

Good luck to everyone else fasting today.
I've edited the title of this topic to clarify that it is about 36 hour fasting and not, as some might have thought, about liquid fasting for a whole week...
Decided to fast today as wondering if I can get in a 4:3 this week or maybe a half fast on Friday, it's half term so I'm home with the kids and my neighbours daughter is coming over to play. Should be quite a chilled out day so a good day to fast!
wildmissus wrote: And just for the record for anyone else who may read this it was 21C in Nairn, Scottish Highlands on Saturday!!!

And here in nz we have had our first really thorough cold snap. Snow closed roads all over the country. We have had our best summer for ages so cant really complain, hope that doesnt mean we are in for a nasty winter!!

Down side of the cold is I was so hungry I ended up eating a small meal, which I have yet to calculate but I think was under 500. No liquid fasting tho, bit gutted. Once I get used to the change in weather Ill get back on track
Fluffed it again today! I was invited out to lunch and couldn't refuse as we are leaving for the UK in a few days! We have guests coming tomorrow too, so will try again on Friday. Hope others had a more successful day than me :)
