I know what you mean, Candy @Candicemarie I'm hoping to get over this plateau too (might throw in a couple of fasts!) I just wish my blinkin TOTM would hurry and start - so it can hurry up and go again!
Starting to get nervous about Canada - I'm not one for flying - and I'll be all on my lonesome (as usual!) - looking forward to meeting a handsome Cannadian!

Oh well done on today's fast Oatsey @Carieoates! How's it going?
No, my folks aren't coming with me to Canada - they've got to stay behind and look after the girls. If I then decide to move to Canada I guess I'll have to ship them over. I'm very worried about that side of things though - poor girls!

It was a good fast, not sure on the cal and carb count but my tummy told me I was pretty empty when I went to bed
Will you be leaving your parents behind if you emigrate ? Or are they going too? If you're worried speak to @rawkaren about pet transportation.

If I emigrate (and its a BIG If because of the dogs etc.) I'd like to think my folks will join me but it may be that I go alone!
Oh yes Karen! @Rawkaren What was it like for your cat? Do you have a company you recommend? The thought of my two dogs flying. Oh boy, I think they'll be terrified!
By the way, Oatsey! - I've got an interview next week!!

@nursebean. Archie flew twice. Airpets handled him the first time via BA. They collected him from home, housed him overnight at Heathrow and flew him the next morning. I picked him up at SFO. He was absolutely fine. It's worse for us than for them and the vet will tell you the same. I did get stressed though but it's only a few hours in the grand scheme of things. http://www.airpets.com/

Oh I like the sound of Airpets! So they actually assign somebody to look after your pets then? I just imagined they'd arrive at the airport, get caged and then shipped out like a piece of luggage. That actually sounds a lot kinder. Are you allowed to get your pet sedated at all? Only my two get very stressed about new things - I'd like them to just sleep through. And so when you pick them up they don't have to stay in quarantine or anything? Thanks for recommending that company, though Karen @Rawkaren - I shall definitely look into it!
My flight is booked - I'm definitely going!!

Personal recommendations are always invaluable to me.
When was the last time you went on a flight bean? Unlike those who have to travel for work (rawkaren) I love flying as it's usually to a nice holiday.
Plus it's nice to be staying with family, was taking about your interview too bean ! You've definatley got the bit between your teeth now.

@nursebean. You can't sedate them on planes sadly. They do take photos for you if you want at each stage and send them to you. The hardest thing is the pick up the other side. I collected Archie myself at SFO and had to go to cargo and clear him through customs myself. I could hear him out back, but to be fair they got him off the plane and I picked him up within 20 mins. It depends which airport they go to. Coming back, he stayed overnight at Heathrow and then they limo'd him up to the northeast. If you are having the ground transport service, please ask them for a direct service so they are not picking up pets on the way or else it makes for a very long car journey for them.

Karen? @RawKaren Do they have somebody with them on board then? How do they feed and water them? And you don't have to quarantine them now? 20 mins sounds brilliant because I read that it can take 4-5 hours! Thanks so much for your advice. If it all happens then I'm sure I'll be back to ask for more!!
Oatsey @Carieoates I can't really remember the last time I flew. I have a feeling it was when Poppy was only a puppy - so 11 years ago! I flew to Italy with my family. The last time I flew alone was to Australia to spend three weeks with my sister who was out there for a year! That was a LONG flight with a change at Singapore - so a direct flight to Canada should be a doddle!!
