Thanks for your concern@clairemarie I just somehow didn't make it onto this thread yesterday. I am fine. A bit fed up with what seems like a long sort of plateau but considering the trouble I have had with my weight over the years and the number of mini holidays I have had staying more or less the same is an achievement. I am relatively happy with how I am at the moment although it would be nice to shed a bit more weight I feel that I am at a BMI that is not too unhealthy for my age and my body fat seems not too bad either so hopefully my internal organs are not too threatened. I don't really want to increase my fasting days as this balance is what makes it workable in the long run for me. If I give up work at the end of the year it will give me the chance to explore other forms of exercise especially as my feet are in better shape these days. It does seem that only one of us makes good progress at a time so now is your time!
I had a good day yesterday. We ordered some new curtains for the lounge. We have slightly changed the colour scheme and I am not too happy with the colour of the ceiling at the moment but will wait till the curtains come till I decide if we need to repaint it. Yesterday was Guy Fawkes day here and also our wedding anniversary. We acknowledged it but didn't do anything special as hubby was working in the evening and I wanted to fast! There was a big fireworks display at the university in our town which we watched from a distance on Saturday and some quite good fireworks in our neighbourhood last night. We may see if there is a display somewhere on Friday and Saturday we can go to - we do like fireworks!
I need to go and get ready for work now but next time I will give you some suggestions for possible places for you son to visit. Enjoy your weekend!
@Lil . you are lucky that you are only eleven lbs off target. I have double that to go. Please consider chair exercise using resistive bands or weights. Us ladies need to keep our muscle up and bad feet is no excuse. You could find routines on the net. Also research qi gong, I think that's what it is called, it is a very rhythmic low inpact form of movement aand breathing that icreases circulation, mobility and relaxation. I have tried it a few times and it is easy and an increased feeling of well being. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you because I really want to see you reach your goal!!!
Morning@clairemarie Thought I'd get on here early before the day gets away from me. Good weigh in for me this morning - back down to my lowest Monday weight so it's all progress from here on. :victory: I hope you are continuing your good progress. I've been to aquajog and when I am done here I am going to help hubby with the repainting of the lounge ceiling - the more we looked at it the more we thought it was wrong. Hopefully between us we can get it done in a couple of days. Not sure what we are having tonight - there is a pork tenderloin in the fridge or it maybe salmon - see how i feel later. I have book club this evening so I need a good dinner to give me resolve when the biccies come out!
See you later!
Good morning to you @Lil you must be happy that your weight is heading back in the right direction! This week I had a smaller than usual loss of 1/2 lb but I'll take it!
I detest painting ceilings. It is so awkward! I hope you at least have a few laughs.
Salmon sounds like a great idea for dinner. Somehow I find fish to be very satisfying on fast nights. And the added bonus is low cal and big on nutrients!
I seem to have achy joints today so that might explain my small weight loss this week.
Have a happy fastday!
@clairemarie Your tracker looks good at the moment - a straight downward line.Things definitely seem to have turned around for you since you got your job. I expect it is not only the increased physical activity but also that you are away from temptation while you are at work.
Does your son in Ireland get the opportunity to travel much? We are so lucky in Europe that we have so many interesting places in easy reach. He should be able to reach lots of interesting places as Ryanair fly out of Ireland.
As you may have noticed I have given up on the painting for the moment - Looking upwards at the ceiling was starting to make me feel a bit sicky. We've nearly finished the 1st coat which may be enough - have to see what it looks like when it is dry. I will take your advice and go for the salmon tonight - with a watercress sauce and some veggies
Hi@clairemarie I hope your fast is going well today. Sorry I didn't catch up with you earlier but I was struggling to upload photos for a post I made about my 2 year fastiversary. We've finished the painting and have moved everything back into the lounge - I think it was worth it. Just waiting for the new curtains now - they said it would be about a month. I'm going to do the pork tenderloin tonight - I have just put it in to marinade. I will make some ratatouille to go with it. This is my only weekday in this evening so I am looking forward to some couch time - I'm still about 6 or 7 episodes behind with Corrie.
@Lil I went for my tuna apple salad tonight. It is a weird combination but very tasty. My son usually comes back to the states in the summer but has been to London a few times and Rome. He loves London and has an uncle and a few cousins as well as some college mates to visit there. I would like to see him go to Paris but since he is traveling with his girlfriend he is afraid of a Paris trip because she might get the wrong idea and think he is going to propose. My son's mind works in strange ways don't you think? He was thinking Stonehedge but I read its a long trip for not much and I really do not think girlfriend would enjoy. This is why I thought Lisbon would be a great idea. I know I would enjoy it. I have a feeling they will head to Scotland though. I wish I would win the lottery so I could travel Europe for a month or so.........dreaming!
Anyway, you are right about eating less due to work. I just concentrate on a quality protein and some veg. And I don't eat bread at all. Yes, I do have one carb dish per week as well as some dessert treat. What ever is going on is working and I couldn't be happier. I really have to say though that it is the physical activity that is driving it all.
Morning@clairemarie Another loss ( 0.8lb) for me today so I am a happy bunny. No aqua today because the teacher is away. I have just been to look at a possible wedding venue with my son and girlfriend. It is on a farm - they don't really want a traditional stately home job - but still amazing how the costs mount up.
This afternoon I am taking a Christmas tree to the local parish church where they have a Christmas tree festival with trees from lots of local organisations. Ours is for the women's group I belong to. We will put up the tree and get the electrics tested and some others will decorate it tomorrow.
Not sure what we are eating tonight - something with chicken thighs I think
Well, a great big hippity hoppity to you @Lil. Your Christmas tree project sounds like a lot of fun. I am very pleased with my progress as well. Grilled lamb chop for dinner. I am nursing a cold right now so am generally miserable. Have a great day and I will check back in after work.
You really are on a roll at the moment@clairemare :like: :victory: you must be really pleased. Recently I have found that taking a zinc supplement seems to curtail a cold - worth a try maybe. I also take echinacea
Just had my dinner @clairemarie I did the Hairy Dieters Spanish Bake which is one of my favourites. It is a relatively high calorie meal for me these days and I am up to 402 calories so nothing more for me today. I shall have a camomile tea at bed time.
I have the opportunity to go to a Christmas fair at a stately home on Wednesday with a group of friends. As they will want to have lunch while we are there I have decided to move my second fast day to Thursday this week so I won't be a party pooper. It's a work day which I don't really like but seems the best solution. Also means I will miss aqua again on Wednesday :frown:
Hi @clairemarie I hope your day at work has not been too hard and that your cold is getting better. Also I hope you are having an easy fast day. I have not fasted today. We had a good day at the Christmas market. I managed to buy a few presents and did not do too much tasting. I shall be fasting tomorrow instead.
Good Morning @Lil, is late Sunday night right now but I thought I would leave you some fastday encouragement for the morning. I am steadily losing a pound per week for which I am grateful considering on the non fastdays carbs have been .sneaking in. I have a nagging cough and painful packed headcold and have found the only comfort has been vanilla icecream, boo hoo, but it has been my only source of comfort. I feel on one hand I should behave and I would drop a little more per week but I will not beat myself up as holidays and warming fall recipes are abound. This Thrusday is our American holiday Thanksgiving which for my family is the best holiday of all, A big stuffed turkey with fantastic butter laden potato an butternut squash etc apple and sweet potato pie
and all so much prep work to make it all happen, It is all so yummy so I will gladly fast Monday and Wednesday but expect no loss for next week. My fingers will be crossed that I maintain. The stores are prepping for Black Friday t, the day after Thanks giving, in which the the Christmas sales are phenominal. Most stores open at Midnight and people come out in the droves. I am not sure I will be one of them however.
If my weight loss continues in its currant pattern I will reach my goal by march 12 and then I will be ready to buy new clothes. I guess I am about ready to give my larger clothes away. Have a good day and take a good walk.
Good to hear from you@clairemarie Sorry to hear you have not been well but you are doing so well at the moment! I wouldn't worry even if you have a small gain next week you will soon get back on track. Will you be doing all the cooking for Thanksgiving? I have experienced Black Friday. I went to a conference in Chicago once. It started on the Sunday but we flew out on the Friday. I could not believe how busy the pavements ( sidewalks!), shops and restaurants were.
I have had a small gain again this week but my body fat has gone down so not all bad. I did a double aqua session on Friday to make up for the 2 I missed last week and I am off to aquajog again shortly. We've had a rather wet although mild for the time of year weekend so I have been doing indoor jobs. I think it is going to be sunny but cold today so I may try and do a bit of tidying up in the garden. We have had such a mild autumn that not all the leaves have come down yet.
Tonight I am planning to do cod with celeriac champ ( mashed celeriac with parsley, low fat cheese and spring onions ( ? scallions) with some veggies. See you later
Hi there@clairemarie I hope you are having a good fast today in preparation for the good times tomorrow. Do you have a lot of cooking to do today - you will need to be strong if so.
I seem to have caught your cold! It came on very quickly last night. Luckily it is not a work day so I am having a quiet day in and dosing myself up with zinc and echinacea. Feeling quite sorry for myself at the moment! I have cancelled my aqua class for this afternoon - hopefully I can make up for it on Friday.
Pork loin for us again this evening - hubby does the main shop and he tends to get in a bit of a rut sometimes! I think I will do some roast veg with it this time.
