I'm going to start reading one of the books I have just bought on my kindle after reading the book club thread. Hopefully that will help me get off to sleep.

I'm hungry now but there is nothing to eat in my hotel room - perhaps a good thing...

for all the snorers here or wifes/partners of snorers.

My OH life has changed for the better since using this or equivalent over past 6 months or so.

http://www.breatheright.com.au/snoring-relief.aspx

He orders the Airplus direct from the Danish factory - all the way to Australia.. arrives fast so anyone looking to get them shipped to UK /USA.
much cheaper than breathe right

there are alternatives and a self diagnostic site on the British snoring site http://www.britishsnoring.co.uk/

its very quiet at night now. and mood is better too due to good sleep cause nothing like a grumpy hubby. Like a baby , he can now "sleep through the night"

highly recommended by him. (and me)

The tent is prepared, candles lit, fire in the corner for you northern hemisphere folk, gentle music on the cd, hot choccy melting gently over the campfire. Hope no one comes in! :sleepy: :sleepy: :sleepy: :sleepy: :sleepy:

Hi Debs, I'm here after some hours tossing and turning and unable to sleep. By the way, when do you ever sleep?

Thank you but I just seem to have a mis-wired brain or something. When my mum was banged up in the local nursing home my e-mails to family and friends almost went viral round the globe as I related the coming and goings of the inmates. Great fun, shame she died.

Hi I'm back in the tent. Just noticed that it's the same time as last night. I am still in the hotel but going home tomorrow so hopefully will sleep better then.

I went to a Raymond Blanco brasserie for dinner this evening. Great food and I was with a colleague who is a wine expert so drank a lovely Sancerre. My knowledge of wine is limited so I generally stick to New World sauvignon blanc.

By the way my spellchecker changed 'sauvignon' to 'Washington'.
Not sure why that would be. :?:

Hi Windsinger. Mmm, Raymond Blanc, sounds fab., friends went there for a special occasion and loved it!
I love good wine and we are lucky enough to live near a fab Tassie wine producing area that produces lovely Sav Blancs and Pinot Noirs

Gosh someone set me straight here. Isn't another name for bra spelled the same as the place @windsinger123 went to eat? Totally a country gap for me.

Doesn't mean anything to me but would be interested to hear if you're right GoLinda!

Miscellaneous ramblings...

Will a Kindle read the book to you so that you can close your eyes and just listen? A Henry Kissinger kind of voice ought to knock anyone out.

I went the low-tech way and sit in the living room with my eyes closed and the TV on a science channel. As the topics change it keeps your mind from returning to obnoxously repetitive dreams. I've yet to discover what I might be learning subliminally, but am anticipating something truly profound to pop up any day now. Besides an occasional urge to buy something just by "paying shipping and handling" that is.

Thought they were a joke originally, but Breathe-Right strips for snoring do seem to work, though they can make a nose a bit tender if used too frequently.

Discovered that this WOE can stop a tendency to snore with a side benefit of having completely clear sinuses throughout the night. This seems to imply that a person can have throat fat too, I guess.

That's interesting Debs. I've had lots of wine from Australia and NZ but have never tried any from Tasmania. Will look out for it
