yes, re magnesium, make sure the dose is high enough and take it a couple of hours before bed. take vitamin d in the morning.

I sleep better if I'm not too warm so careful with that duvet...

I wish I spent last night in this tent rather than lying in bed for 5hrs+ trying to will myself to go to sleep. I only managed around 4hrs last night and I feel absolutely exhausted this morning. I have no idea how I will make it through this fast, or even a day at work!!

Didn't get to bed as early as I planned and I woke a few times but not enough to feel I didn't sleep well. I think the Mag has helped but might up the dose next week as my leg ached enough to bother me. Had some disturbing dreams...ugh.

1st time I've looked in here. My sleeping patterns are very erratic. I often have 2 sleeps. If I wake around 3ish I get up and have a peppermint or camomile tea and do a puzzle. I usually do codewords as I know I can do them in about 20 minutes so no nagging thoughts left over as with an uncompleted crossword.
I take magnesium every evening for a sort of restless leg problem caused by neuropathic pain in my feet. I shall try taking it a bit earlier and see if that helps.
Last night I got to sleep in a timely manner and slept through for the 1st time for ages. I was very tired after a late night and a fair amount of alcohol on Saturday night but I did try a short 'meditation for better sleep' that was in the Times on Saturday last night so maybe that is the answer

Same here, @Ballerina, as I slept 9 hours last night, there are good chances for the next one be a 3 hours one and I'll be awake before 4:00AM

Why couldn't it be a middle, let's say 5h30 hours every night ? I'll be fine with that

callyanna wrote: I usually sleep well but think there must have been a sudden sharp drop in temperature in the middle of last night as I woke up freezing and had to put my dressing gown on over my pjs in bed. I bought a duck down filled duvet a few months ago but hubby still doesn't want me to put it on the bed as he doesn't seem to feel the cold!

@callyanna I would highly recommend my electric blanket with dual controls and fast heating. It's a Dreamland Intelliheat. I feel the cold more than my OH now I've lost the blubber and in the winter I leave my side on low for an hour as I go to sleep and switch it back on if I wake up feeling chilly. I've got it on now for a warming before I get up - it's so cold this morning :frown:

I slept so well last night - about 8 hours unbroken which is unusual for me. I thought I would wake around 4am as usual, particularly as I fasted yesterday.

Hope the tent is empty tonight!

OH hates when it's too hot in the room, let's say 19°C, so I turn the heat off when he comes to the one condition, that he doesn't let me freeze to death as I am more sensible to cold now I lost the weight as well

Couldn't take some magnesium as it makes me put on weight so no way I would take it

As predicted, slept only a few hours last night, couldn't say if it's because I slept too much the night before or because I fasted yesterday

I slept like the dead last night! Took the mag a little earlier and it was a fast day. How nice to wake up with a smile x

@Callyanna I am old fashioned and use a hot water bottle. OH has invested in one as well!

Good idea @Merlin! I do wear bedsocks but have a hottie somewhere that I can dig out too! :like:

@manderley I'm intrigued..why does magnesium cause you to gain weight? I can't find anything in the scientific literature, except perhaps that it strengthens bones so I suppose the bones would be heavier so you'd weigh more? Can you help me out here? It's an important thing to know!
