Yes, bean, my husband Nurse Miles used to say that. He saw them at am handover or not at all. He used to get a lot of reading done, unless there were late night escapees!

Just re-watching sugar vs. fat. Can't make up my mind about it. Bit confusing really. Probably because the experiments were so extreme.

Yes I didn't think much of that experiment. As you say, it was too extreme and didn't really tell you anything new.

Is your husband still a nurse Debs?

It actually sounded a bit pointless because it do anything that I could relate to. Cutting out sugar is one thing, but cutting out all carbs, including veg? Mmmm.
Yes, he is at the moment, but has been trying to escape for some time now!! A bit over it really! Fed up of the paperwork and not actually doing the hands on stuff that he went into it for.

Yes that's how I felt. It became pretty much ALL about paperwork...which is why I became a Practice Nurse...but then I ended up looking after the "healthy sick" if you know what I mean.

Ahh I've just heard the first birdsong of the day. I used to love that sound when I was on duty as it meant my shift was nearly over!

Yes, I know what you mean, or Preventative Care?
And now you can't work because of your illness? That must suck. Ju wants to get a job up here with me, cleaning, so much better paid!

The pay is truly awful isn't it.

I've just been reading your blog. What an exciting life you lead! I love the fact that you sometimes rescue little Joeys and that the men are afraid of snakes...hilarious! And what great places you have to visit...it all sounds so idyllic...but jolly hard work too...and must be hard being parted from your hubby. It's just as well you have Skype.

Right, really must get some sleep. Look forward to reading the second instalment of your blog...in a few hours' time!

All alone in here tonight? Is there anyone out there? Now I've got that song whistling through my head.

They must all be sleeping @Debs. Have been doing some retail therapy today. Bought a dress and shirt in J. Crew. Are you working today?

Oh nice one!! I don't have any chance to do any retail therapy here!! Yes, working today, although not doing much again as it is too wet to get out on site, so tryng to study philosophy and stay awake after a few people were rampaging around the camp last night!!!

This is entertaining. I thought Australia was big, but did not appreciate HOW big.

Ah yes, gigantic! It takes me all day to fly home to Hobart from where I'm working, the equivalent of London to Moscow I think!
Just retail therapy on your day off?

Finally got around to getting a manicure and pedicure. My feet were dreadful so was in there for an hour and a half in the end. Other than that, supermarket, cleaning, changing the bed. Off to San Francisco tomorrow for the day
