Hi guys, just arrived at Frankfurt airport and waiting for connecting flight. Not muh sleep on the plane but also not too bad. There were loads of little kids all around me but they were all very good. . Lucky I can relax today.
Morning! What are you up to in Germany?
International workshop it was scheduled for the UK then changed last minute to Germany, so I have a unused UK visa in my passport and getting a rush one for Schengen was something. One of the little pains of living in Africa where so many people want to get to Europe, it makes travelling a bit of a challenge. But nothing a little patience and a smile can't get through.
What a pain, hope it is worth it!! I'm glad I have both a UK and an Australian passport, makes life so much easier when going into Europe. UK and Australian passport control are pretty paranoid about who they let in!
Maybe I am making it out to be worse than it is. I have never had a problem. The biggest pain is the long queue at "all other passports". Sometimes I think the immigration officials must have a tough job with some of the stories they have to hear.
Probably! At least you haven't got massive jetlag to contend with as well!
That's true, flying East, West is so much worse, North South is just a bad nights sleep.
Tell me about it, I always get it flying back to Europe really badly. I also get it badly flying to NZ which is only 3hrs, and also it puts me out of kilter every time I fly home on r&r as it is a 3 hour time diffference. The only upside is, I normally get up here at 4.30am, so 7.30am at home isn't too bad! And there are always nanna naps of course!
And Insomniacs tent for when your internal clock is completely haywire.
Yep, you meet some odd people in here
Will be home again Friday and then off camping, hope the rain has let up a bit by then. My eldest daughter said she is not going with so at least she can look after the dogs and we don't need to get a house sitter.
We love camping in good weather, we have a Hilux ute and are planning to buy a slip on camper to go on it so we can explore the outback. You have many national parks near you for camping?
Yes there are loads, the bigger ones require a bit more than a weekend because they are a few hours drive away. For the weekend trips there are so many private places, most have a small game reserve attached with the more common game species, and a place to sit under tree and enjoy a braai. (BBQ).
Those slip on campers are great, definitely on my wish list for exploring places like Botswana and Namibia.
