I've had a really bad week or so, sleep-wise. I fall to sleep fine, but wake up really early and can't always get back to sleep. I'm starting to lose the plot.

@scubachick i' m laughing my head off about yr hub and the curtains!
Hi@rawkaren hope the rest of the jetlag quickly disappears
Well ive had tea and toast and painted my fingernails and ( with difficulty- big tum) my toenails!
Always feel unnerved by a very early brekky
Leads to eating too much due to early start with the cals and hunger switch clicking on ...
But i was sleepless and very hungry  what's a girl to do .....

Oh dear you lot, the tent is up and running again.

Know what you mean about the early brekkie CM, I get up at 4.45am and can't face anything at that time. I see some of the guys in the mess and their plates are piled high with fried food, plus a curry, rice etc which the guys have when they come back off night shift. Uurrgghhhh

STEP AWAY FROM THE BREAD

Sorry about that! I keep away from the mess in the morning just in case I get tempted, and as I am having a couple of days of glycogen depletion, it is best I try not to think about the carbs, hence the pieces of greasy chicken. Looking forward to some nice fruit sourdough when I go home next week though.

Insomniacs beware........
Local news today did say that using smart phones and tablets stop you going to sleep. It's because the light is in the blue spectrum suppresses the production of the sleep inducing hormone melatonin. I have to say that I always tell my kids not to play games an hour before bed, but had no idea about tablets. My son used to switch his Xbox off and watch tv. Especially as books can be read on tablets, so how does that work. Reading books send me to sleep double quick. Mind you my family could sleep for England always have, and as babies.
Sorry I will get my coat.

@carieoates. I need to look at the tablet theory tho funnily enough last night, wasnt on ipad late and didnt go on it when i cdnt sleep ...was awake all night, got up and read in the end
Its hard to know whats for the best...some years ago i did a " reset your body clock " course
Each night you had to go to bed same time, stay in bed no matter what, and get up each day at the same time
After many months of this, and endless hours lying in bed staring at the ceiling,my body clock finally reset and i was sleeping from between midnight-2 a.m til 8 a.m....solid predictable sleep every night, but over time, insomnia has crept back in so am no longer a fan of stay in bed,no stimulation theories!
