Re: Really Short People Tent

The only thing I already made is the Christmas pudding, but it's tradition

I lost 3 cm on the hips and 2cm on the waist these past few days so I am another size down. I checked because I felt my pants way looser and was wondering if it was me or just the fabric. So I began being size 50 (22 in UK) and am now a size 40 (12 in UK). It's a bit of a shock I must admit.

This was in a link from Prevention Magazine. Interesting.

"Women taller than 5-foot-2 may be missing a gene mutation that helps them reach their 100th birthday, according to a study in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences."

At the risk of sounding like Scrooge, i agree with you Debs..i dont really " do" christmas..

I dont send cards,I just give a donation to a childrens and an animals charity, and only buy gifts for a few family kids who are over 3...
I love Christmas Eve, but my Xmas Day is laid back and doesnt have to feature the usual dinner,as long as its something nice.it doesnt even have to feature presents.
My fave time is Twixmas, the days after Christmas Day and before New Years..those days seem like time out of time
Love yr DIY ideas!

I hate all the commercialism surrounding Christmas but having two young grandsons I do enjoy seeing it through their eyes. We do have a fairly traditional Christmas dinner but I don't go overboard on buying stuff I know we'll never eat, and I'm always glad to get back to my normal routine asap.

I "do" Christmas but only Christmas day, not Christmas eve and after the 25th no one can reach me by mail, telephone or face to face (except my partner) until January 5th. I make an effort for Christmas day for my parents becauhe I am all the family they still but I cook everything and there's no presents.

Oh and I am usually sick around Christmas, last year I had a mega flu from the 24th to january the 2nd and it was the 5th year in a raw. It's like my body rejects it.

Last year I went to my parents, even if I was sick and stayed on the sofa for most of the day, I had fever and felt awful (I won't go into details, I promise) and I stayed in bed until the 2nd. The good news is I hardly put on weight as I can't binge.....

I like your idea of Twixmas Candicemarie!! My birthday falls between the two so it is a bit bittersweet as I remember as a child people forgetting or wrapping the pressie in Xmas paper, or even worse for a child, getting a 'joint' present!!! So so see why I am a little bitter and twisted!
Having said that, we always have a Danish dinner on Xmas Eve as the OH is half Danish, so, caramelised potatoes, spiced red cabbage etc.

Speaking of christmas, dont forget you have till October 25 to join the Christmas club tent. Just set a weight loss goal that you feel is achievable by December 25, just 65 days away and come and join the fun. We have marshmallows toasted at night but only if its not your fast days. Bring a deck of cards.

heres the link. we have 65 members thus far.. 5-2-diet-chat-f6/register-here-to-joing-the-69ers-club-t8676.html

Hi Juliana. Already signed up! But the way I am going on holiday at the moment I will probably have a bigger target!
Speaking of Xmas. So happy I actually don't like mince pies very much! We don't make a big thing of it really, but the commercialism destroys it completely. Best Xmas we ever had was in Morocco where of course they don't celebrate it

My grandson's birthday is Dec 28th so rather than him being overwhelmed with two lots of presents his parents decided to make that day low key with just a cake and token gift on that day and have an 'unbirthday' celebration on July 28th. Bit like her Maj having two birthdays!

Hello, a newbie and another shorty here! I'm 5ft 2in and have about 8kg to lose. I had twin boys 9 months ago and the weight is steadily creeping on but enough is enough. My first fast starts tomorrow and hopefully my second one will be on Wednesday. I usually dread Xmas but don't mind the idea of it so much now that I know there is a way to get back on track with the 5:2 way of eating.
