As I am slowly gaining at the mo, despite trying every thing, I dont think I'll be able to do 5%.

Morning short arses of the world!!

Weighed myself this morning and am 63kg. According to my tracker I won't get to 60kg before next Sept  but I would like to think I could lose 5%, so count me in!

So if I am right, 5% will mean lose 3 kgs before Xmas. Ok count me in but I will only weight myself on Christmas day as I said earlier I wouldn't weight myself before next year. A bit of a compromise in a sense

Hi ladies!

5% from my current weight is 2.8 kg... That will put me close to my goal weight! The progress tracker says it's possible, but I'm kinda sceptical seeing how my weight loss is slowing down. However, I can always use the extra motivation, so I'm in! I'll try my best but I won't beat myself up if it doesn't happen.

Excellent. Mandeley you are either going to be delighted or disappointed come Xmas morning! For the rest of us I suggest we synch up when Caro calls for weigh in stats. I read somewhere this morning that character wise we become the average of five people we know the most so we had all better stick together if that goes for weight loss too

My 5% will be 59.85kg, just below my interim weight. I'd be very happy with that; maybe some more focussed eating on the cards.

Welcome in the tent garnet25

Even if I didn't lose these 5% on Christmas morning, it won't be a disappointement. They are just numbers and I don't care for them, all I care about is I feel great, my clothes are looser every day (my pants right now seem to have grown these past 2 weeks) and I can eat some waffles without feeling guilty. I will weight myself on Christmas morning because I love the idea of the challenge

Speaking of Christmas, I don't know if it's the same everywhere but here we already can find chocolates, gingerbread, cakes about Christmas, even avent calendars, it's crazy !

Hi can I join? Although I've never thought of myself as really short! Just short. I'm 5'2 and at the mo my weight is yo yoing big time. Ir's been close to two months of ups and diwns after a steady decline till I reached my goal weight.

Now I've just got back from holiday where I put on over three pounds. I dont have xmas to worry about because I dont celebrate it, but am heading back to the UK in Jan and would love to be bavk down to my target weight by then.

Yes M all the stuff is already in the shops
I can understand it to a point coz many people have to buy bits week by week and put away for Xmas
But it sure makes it feel less christmassy when it actually comes! after being bombarded by Christmas songs and produce for such a long time already

I agree re numbers..on other diets i have been obsessed with filling exercise books ( yeh thats how oldfashioned i am! ) with statistics ..this time i am not even using the tracker..i know how much ive lost since i started ( 12 lb in 8 weeks) and am just monitoring self now and then with scales and tape measure but i'm sick of bogging myself down with numbers whenever i try to lose weight ..hopefully tho i will lose 5 % for xmas..feels l ike fun trying as we're all in it together
group hug !

Will certainly try for 5% but like others am keeping away from numbers other than occasional weighing. I have been too obsessed in the past and cannot sustain it. This way is relaxed and easy to stick with. My clothes tell me how I am doing.

In Netherlands it's kinda worse :P. People here celebrate Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas) day on December 5th, and the kids receive presents on this day. So yeah.. all the goodies are already in the stores now. Then there's Christmas holiday, though no gifts exchanged anymore this day, just family get together, which of course involves more food :D.

Anyway, so most of us doing the 5% thing will look at our progress around first week of November then? I need to clean up my eating too it seems, too much salty snacks this week  .

I do all the cooking, even the chocolates and biscuits and candies for Xmas but I find it ridiculous that you can find Christmas food in september. Because it began a few weeks ago already. We don't have Halloween here so the next big thing is Christmas but damned......

Today I am beginning some exercises supposed to help with my thights, to slim them down I mean, and which you can do even with bad knees. It's to change a bit from Pilates exercices.

We never bother with Christmas and under sufferance if we have people staying with us which we did last year. The tree had been chopped up before they were airborne back to the UK.
Stuff has been in the shops for a couple of weeks now and while I can understand people wanting to budget over the weeks, so much of what is in the shops is tawdry tat made in China. We try and go diy, sprayed gum leaves as tree decorations, everything home baked, home made Danish hearts on the tree filled with home made choccies.
So, I have no excuse to stuff myself silly. In fact we always have pasta vesuvius on Xmas Day!! And a good bottle of red, of course!
