I'm retired, I'm happy with my older self, I don't much care any more whether people 'approve' of what I wear etc. I intend to enjoy the years I have left.

I am also 43lbs lighter than I was this time last year. 35lbs lost calorie counting till I reached a plateau and started 5:2 which got me off the plateau and down another 8lbs in 5 weeks.

Hi @sylvestra
you sound exactly like the right young at heart member for this sanctuary so welcome and join in the fun! :like: Look forward to reading your posts and well done on your weight loss!

 Many thanks to all

Well my 1st xmas meal/night out went well.
My 1st skirt and sandals outfit in about 3 years.
New top + skirt recycled sandals as said before.
Had my hair done earlier in the day brilliant

 Then the one item I hadn't bought new or even thought about my tights( hadn't worn any in 3 yrs) started to come down taking my knickers with them Lol      What can I say I didn't dare to move away from the table to go to the loo!!!! Probably should have stuck with the trousers + boots, have now dumped all these new xxxl tights for charity along with 6/7 more items what a night well at least I could laugh about it all and entertained the OH he did think I was exaggerating until we got to the car lol well a lesson learned and this weeks outing thought through a little more   take note all if you want your drawers to stay in place then replace your tights   (droopy drawers Sue

Ha ha Sue Q - I can relate to the tights episode. Funny how we just don't think about these things.

I was luckier than you - mine started to slide before I left home. I ended up with knickers both under and over the tights to hold them up. All the tights in the drawer got dumped or charity shopped. I have a party next Saturday and a new pair of SMALL tights to wear along with a dress, unworn for years, that fits me again. It's a great feeling though!

Good day Sassies. Hope all is well with you. I am on my 4th Fast day today, going well so far. It is just past midday so half a day gone already. I have found it better to not eat at all until dinner time. Eating something seems to spark the cravings for me it appears. I wonder how I will go over Christmas.....

I've done the tights thing! Had to go to a funeral a few weeks ago and decided I'd better wear a skirt instead of the usual trousers. On the morning of the funeral hubby was dispatched to local shop (with full instructions on a piece of paper!) To get next size down as the tights I had in the drawer were loose enough to turn round in! I still spent all day nipping off to the loo every few minutes to pull the crinkles out of the ankles. The family must have thought I had a bladder problem! I can't remeber the last time I could wear tights appropriate to my height (or should I say lack of height!). Its well over 30yrs! I've always had to buy bigger and longer to allow for my width taking up all the slack!

It will be a long time before I forget the panic of feeling my tights (plus knickers) sliding ever southwards each time I stood for a hymn!

 miffy49 I do think the funeral was worse than my evening meal at least I sat all night coz I didn't dare
to get up.
 new tights bought today !!!
Well I can't remember the last time I actually bought some because I've put 8 boxed new pairs in the charity bag
Think it was in another life when I had this size  Sue

Good morning Sassies. I hope you all have a great day. I am starting my third week on this plan and feeling in control, on fast days anyway. Today is a fast day.
I have asked elsewhere but haven't had any answers yet. Can any one help me regarding my progress tracker? The issue is that my TDEE is not showing, only my BMI which is changing as I log in each weigh day results. I may have filled in my stats incorrectly at the beginning but I don't know, and I cant find where to change anything. I have logged in my activity level, my height, my start weight, but not my waist measurement or body fat %. Any ideas? I have also sent a message to Moogie but I know how busy she is so I though I would ask here as well.

Got another predicament tomorrow SueQ! Hubby has a hospital appt and I'm on moral support duty. Its too cold to go without tights and I haven't replaced the baggy ones yet. Tried my decent trousers this evening and they wont stay up! Can't add a belt as no loops. So, I will have to wear my baggy jeans which do have belt loops and hope its cold enough to put my long coat over the top!

This size thing really takes you by surprise doesn't it? I don't seem to have lost any more actual scales weight but I've gone down at least another dress size and I can take my belt in to 5 holes now and it would only go to 3 holes about a month ago!

Wow Miffy that's fantastic! You really must be exchanging fat for muscle since the scale isn't changing but you are shrinking. :)

 Good Luck tomorrow miffy don't drop your trousers at the hospital whatever you do  you could use a length is string to keep them up for the day Lol

My tights and knickers have all been replaced now so no embarrassing episode's on that score, plus the old sewing machine has been out again to take in the waistband on all my trousers with elastic waists just to get some use out of them for a while, have bought only one new pair of black ones they were 4 sizes down
 Love this WOL  Sue

so tell me the pm to moogie should do it

I too have been swivelling around in clothes that were to big, and getting up from a chair finding my skirt low down around my hips. Embarrassing to hook it up.
It's marvellous and I love everyone's posts.
My little bit of input:
1) with so many trousers impossible to wear ( had many different sizes)I have taken several to the charity shop, and better quality ones are going to a dressmaker be altered. I have altered some myself, but haven't the time for the rest right now. Can't afford to replace the really good ones but have bought two new size 12s, having been an 18 for ages. I will have NO big clothes left as there is no way I need a fail-safe!

2) measurements at the gym were interesting this week as I have been on a long plateau, with a very slight trickle of weight loss over the last 4 months....but in that time, they say I have lost just over 2KG of body fat (yes kgs), and body muscle has increased by just under that amount! The fat loss is visible and more localised (inside too I hope), whereas the muscle which is more dense maybe less obvious. Kind of explains the trickle of loss. I get overall workouts at the gym.

It's a good picture whether their scales are totally accurate or not, and the trainer was keenly interested to hear all about 5:2.
Very happy to be as I am!

 Well done Katharina
I'm with you on the subject of not needing the larger sizes again ever !!! got rid of all now and altered my elastic waist trousers will buy some new ones in the sales next year but probably 2 just to keep me going for the year or until I've lost all I need to, did buy 1pair they were 4 sizes down
Last night's Indian meal went very well, fasting today willingly another meal out on Friday night, but have just realised that one is after my weigh-in so a little hope, with all the "events" will just do the best I can from now
onwards :clover: :clover: Sue. :clover: :clover:
