Knock, knock, here I am. I'm 57 but don't mind being the young whipper snapper. I'll make the tea too. :coffee:

Ah, we do have some young whipper snappers, here, Geri. One is even as young as mid 50's @rawkaren.

Tea maker is always welcome, but don't let everyone put upon you!

For the last month or so I've been dipping my toes into home-based exercises - push-ups, squats, that sort of thing. There are quite a few websites out there which extol the virtues of intermittent fasting and exercise, more specifically, weight-training. Leangains and Mark's Daily Apple are two of these.

In the light of this, I asked for a 3kg kettlebell for Christmas, and, for the first time in my life, I've begun lifting weights!

I'll report back on how it goes.

On a different note I made my first split pea soup in about 5 years - can't believe just how tasty it is. I'll be having this weekly from now on:

  Hi all SSS members I'm willingly fasting today yesterday ended up a total disaster/bingeing day my first real one in 8months!!!!! So in for a good one today, my OH will be around which makes it harder because he wants lunch so will probably make it 16:8. Family visited yesterday so got rid of most of the remaining quiche+pork pie + a box of chocks.
I will have to insist on no chock prezzies in the future because the temptation is far to much but I'm rationing them for know
just having 2 at night ( excluding last night).
My walking was supposed to be restarted today but it's very wet+windy and I'm not bothering now
For those of you trying a fast today best of luck and remember there's no such thing as a failed fast just a postponed one.

Hi dear Sassy friends,

My Fast day is nearly over, and I managed quite well with just coffee, tea and an apple until the evening meal tonight of BBQ steak and mixed salad so I am very pleased with myself.

Welcome Patchwork!

Forget yesterday Sue and it's great that you got rid of all the 'naughty' food, that is what I have been doing, into the bin or into my OH!! Have a great day, you can do it Sue.

We are having friends over tomorrow evening for a NYE - meal at this stage Prawn and cheese Log for entre, Pork and Roast Vegetables and Strawberry Flan for dessert.

I will definitely be doing 16/8 until I fast again on Thursday.

Happy Fasting everybody - one day at a time.

cheers Maggie
