I am bursting to say that the young estate agent who came round today to take pictures of the house thought that hubby and I were a LOT younger than we really are! Maybe he was just being nice but...we were so chuffed! Being slim now has taken years off us! :victory:

@Auriga thanks for resurrecting this thread..sad to think its been weeks since anyone's reported a compliment!
It's specially nice if somebody young thinks you are younger than you are :like: :like:
I do think losing weight knocks years off in many ways..for one thing,we move more lightly as well as look lighter! X
Wracking my brains to think of any recent compliments but...nope! i look like the wreck of the Hesperus!

Well if you do look like the wreck of the Hesperus @CandiceMarie I am sure it's a very beautiful wreck!

I had two compliments last week, or at least I am taking them as compliments. A colleague told me to stop losing as it looked like my 'waist had caved in', which I am okay with as it had got bigger over the last three-four years. The other one was from a woman at the gym who asked me whether I had lost 'all that weight on purpose or had I been unwell?' Now she is an oncologist so surrounded by lots of people who are not well but it has made me realise that I have reached the minimum weight (67.5-68kg) for my age (47) and height (1.77m) and that the focus should be on toning, not losing. I don't think I look gaunt but perhaps I do.

Well I got lots of compliments when I posted a picture in the fashionista tent, does that count?

Actually, about two weeks ago I had a whole string of compliments. One friend sent me a text to say that I was looking 'dam*ed fine', a mum at school said something like "don't know what you're doing, but keep it up, you look really great these days", and then there was the  significant flirting from the cute tree surgeon who came to pollard a tree. That was nice. I'm very happily married to a guy who thinks I'm very sexy, but sometimes as a woman over 30 and with children you can feel invisible

Oh, that is lovely, @Winsome!

We are doing this for ourselves, but it is still very nice to receive a genuine compliment...with no strings/motive attached.

I'm dropping into this tent because I had a really nice compliment yesterday. I volunteer in our community shop & a lady came in that I hadn't seen for a couple of months. I don't know her well, but we had been in the habit of talking diets whenever she came in....as we were both trying to lose weight (think she was leaning towards Atkins).

Anyways, she walked in, clocked me behind the till.....& proceeded to virtually gasp, whilst pointing at my face! When she did speak, she was so complimentary! Yep, I have shifted a couple of chins so far....hurrah! I am down 2 stone 4lbs, so I guess I am at the point where it is noticing......yippee!

To top it all, I was working an extra shift in the shop today....& the postman came in. Somehow, we got on the topic of diets...whereupon he said how noticeable my weight loss was! Everyone's letters in the village will now be late.......coz I stood on my soapbox & proceeded to tell him all about the benefits of 5:2.........which as we all know, takes quite a bit of time!!!!

Amazing how evangelical I have become.......

What wonderful compliments you all have been having! I think I got one last month, but I was a little groggy from anesthesia (after a colonoscopy) at the time. The nurse said to me and OH "You both look ten years younger than your ages"  I had to ask OH later if my memory was correct--yes!! (He's been losing weight, too)

At exercise class in the last few months, 2 people have told me how noticeable my weight loss is. Only needed to lose 14 pounds and wanted to go down one (US)size from 14 to 12, but still to be so noticeable

@CandiceMarie We all know just how good you look and agree with your neighbour you do look years younger than you're at least telling us you are.
There's one from me!!

A dear friend from childhood told me last week I'm now looking better than I ever have, which is either an insult to my younger self, or a compliment

I atarted teaching at a new school this year. My boss said to me yesterday " you don't have a 20 year old daughter! " I said " she'll be 20 in a month" boss said as he waves his arms around " well, I thought you were about 32!" I said " I'm 46" and boss said " well I I can't believe it." So of course I know I don't look 32 and am happy to be 46 but I'd have to say the was the best compliment I've ever had. Then he asked if she wanted a boyfriend. His son is 20 and can you believe it we worked out that they're doing the same uni teaching course! Small world.

Yesterday my mom's friend, who is very sweet but just a bit odd, asked me if I was okay. "You look thin and pale" she said! I'm fine, and I'm not pale, I replied. Laughing to myself. So not exactly a compliment, but to echo @Wmr309, I'm taking it as one.

@minumonline and@wendyjane sometimes remarks can sound like a backhanded compliment can't they!
Puzzlingly for me, yesterday a neighbour walked towards me exclaiming and shouting, wow you have lost some weight! I'm puzzled coz ive lost none the last three months tho i lost two stone quite quickly during my first few 5:2 months..however this neighbour sees me on pretty much on a daily basis..and surely must have got used by now to the postxmas 2 stone lighter me. To add to my bafflement, she then insisted on giving me 3 items of new clothing she decided she didnt want..size 14! The most poorly sighted person can see i am three sizes bigger than that! I ' m trying ti sell them on ebay for her
