Go for the carbs @PennyForthem it's the best thing for weight increase as callyanna says!
Yes it is such a lovely day today @callyanna and I should get outside.
Right I am off now to enjoy it before it gets chilly! Thanks for the compliment callyanna. :victory:
I would like to wish my maintenance buddies a very Happy Easter and I hope you all have a great Easter break.
We have just had the very good news that our house is sold to some lovely people that we really liked and so I shall be moving in the not too distant future. I can't wait!
:bunny: Happy Easter :bunny:
What good news @auriga!! Will help you enjoy Easter all the more!
I have been and bought a pair of slim leg 3/4 navy pants and a top in the sale, both size 12.
Great news about your house Auriga, how imminent is the move? and well done on the purchases Penny!
Well done Penny on the new legs....good isn't it to buy small sizes! And the move @callyanna isn't that imminent as we have to wait for the people we are buying from to find something they like. Our buyers aren't in a desperate hurry either, but that's all good as I hate being rushed. I am looking forward to it, even though I hate the actual moving process itself! With our house buying system things can go wrong...keeping my fingers crossed now.
Oh dear, sorry that I have been neglecting you. Have just read your posts, great news on the house move and the new outfit. I am deliberately doing 16:8 all this week, no fasting as I am out of routine and out enjoying myself! Am maintaining between target weight and 2lb under. I would be happy to lose a bit more so happy with that and not even fussed if I go over by a few lbs. I wouldn't be surprised if I did because today we went for a lovely afternoon tea in a fancy hotel and then Easter treat shopping at an even fancier grocery store (the one the Queen goes to!) bought some lovely biscuits, Easter eggs and bunnies as gifts and bought myself a selection of fruit creams and fondants, including dark chocolate rose and violet, my absolute luxury favourites that I have only on special occasions so that they stay special.

@pennyforthem I must go to your just giving page to pledge some money for your dryathlon. Please could you let me have the URL again. Thanks x
Shame, it's closed now wendy darling, but thanks for the thoughts. Always next year.
OOOOOooooo @Wendy Darling those Easter treats sound good! Enjoy them. I am going to try and lose a bit more weight after Easter before my holiday to France at the end of June and @PennyForthem your new challenge would help I am sure. :victory:
Things might get a bit fraught with moving house for me....I just hope things go smoothly.
Hi buddies and hope you all enjoyed the Easter break, however you celebrated. At least we had some sunshine for a change! We had all the family here yesterday so I made the Hairy Bikers' Spanish chicken with chorizo as it's not too spicy for the littlies, 5 and 18 months, both are good eaters and tucked in with the rest of us!
Just had a meal of the leftovers but there's still home made trifle to finish plus other calorific goodies so I'm enjoying eating slightly less healthily than normal for a couple of days before returning to my usual regime.
Have you put any weight back on @PennyForthem? You sounded as if you were having a great time in Wales!
Wendy Darling has also been living the high life! Good on you!
Hope Valerie and Auriga are both doing well too. x
Just about to light the barbe. We have steak, ASDA coleslaw mix, celeriac remoulade and a Greek salad. There's a little wild garlic pesto left for dressing!
We have run the dogs and ourselves ragged on a deserted beach.
Hello my lovely buddies I hope you had a great Easter? We had my younger son and his fiancée over on Easter Sunday and enjoyed their company. Doing a back to back fast now to compensate! I do so want to get down to 55k or below to give myself some wiggle room: as Caroline always says.
I am going to the hairdressers today so that will take my mind of fasting for a while....my hairdresser is a bit scissor happy so that should keep me alert too! Why can they be so pushy???
On Saturday I became the proud owner of an i-phone and now am spending a while trying to get used to the technology. At my age it's the size of the writing and the keys that's a problem. I envy the young only sometimes with their eyesight and fast fingers!!! I must keep up with the technology, but it's not easy when you're not in a work environment any more. If I had grandchildren it might help a lot!!!!!!!!! You never know....it might happen before I am 90yrs old. :dazed:
Hello, fasting buddies! I haven't been around for a couple of weeks because my elder daughter and two granddaughters have been staying over Easter. That has inevitably led to me buying/ making/ eating far too many calorific treats and am therefore four and a half pounds over target. However, they went back to Germany on Monday evening so yesterday I ate up all the leftovers and have fasted today.
We're off to Madrid on the10th May for a couple of days to visit our younger daughter (the one who owns a cake shop!) so I would like to get down to target again before then! Wiggle room is sooooooo... important, especially if you have a sweet tooth like mine!
Hope that you are all doing well. It sounds as if we are all finding our own way through this minefield known as 'maintenance'!
You lot sound as though you are having a whale of a time. Families, barbies, iPhones and cake shops  I would be lost without my iPhone. I love it, as the East Anglia meet up ladies would testify to. When the waiter asked us if we would like anything else I asked him if he had a charger I could use

I am trying low carb for a bit, I wasn't sure how low is low and had 20 something yesterday and 40 something today. I have done a bit of reading tonight and from what I understand, less than 50g per day is extreme and should only be done for a day or two, between 50 and 100 is for good weightloss and between 100 and 150 is for maintenance. I have been tracking on MFP so I will continue to do that but eat normally so that I can see how many carbs I would eat naturally when I am being mindful and how many when I am being a bit more laid back. I think this will be key for me for maintenance so watch this space.

I think it was Izzy that posted this URL for me in the low carbers tent. I found it very interesting

Very interesting info WD - I will take a look when I've time at the link
Morning, fellow maintainers!
You all sound as if you have had interesting Easters!
I've been trying to 'up' my carbs a bit, as I seem to have settled on about 75g per day and I have just wanted to check that, if I 'upped' them, I'd put weight BACK on!! And I have! I've put a satisfying 2lbs back on, to take me 2lbs under target.
This gives me some control back, as I now know what I need to do to drop a pound or two, or maintain. I've never been in this position before - I have piled the pounds back on after getting to target on previous 'diets', but now....

knowledge is power!!
