Aldi are doing a big box of Toblerone lookalike at the moment. It might be worth a trip. They just call it 'Swiss Chocolate'.
Turkish Delight is now my temptation  not the M & S one which tastes like icing sugar covered lumps of homemade jelly but the proper Turkish stuff made by Sultans that goes all gooey & chewy when you bite into it! I feel very virtuous because I haven't opened the box yet & am ignoring the M & S box because the two I have already eaten, just to check you know!, are really not so good. So I will probably take the already opened box to my son's for everyone else to eat but eat the Sultans one with my husband during the week
I have a new one - stuffing, baked outside the bird and a bit brown and crispy on top.

Step away, now.
You would have to mention Turkish Delight. Now I'm going to have to drag hubby to the shop so he can buy me some. I love the stuff, even the cadbury's ones coated in chocolate. The M&S one doesn't sound nice at all.
No @Julieathome will power...will power. You..do... NOT....want.... Turkish delight. Read my lips, hun!
Manderley wrote: @CandiceMarie, it only is the beginning as I plan doing something, a kind of cake, mousse, whatever, with some toblerone

Damn I should have asked if someone could do some grocery shopping for me, I would have some flakes and mincemeat to play with

@Julieathome, I love your list
It doesn't seem to have goat cheese, so I love it even more

Dont worry i can shop for your ingredients @Manderley i'll get you everything you need..and ...ermmmm...if looks like the Toblerone has been nibbled at when you get it, it wasnt me,honest! X
Julieathome wrote: Cheese, don't ask about cheese. The list so far is:-

Cathedral City Cheddar x 2
Lake District cheddar Mature x1
Lake District Cheddar Vintage x1
A really stinky Extra, extra mature that my son bought but forgot the name of x1
Mozzarella x2
Austrian smoked 2 varieties x3
Snowdonia Black Bomber in its wax x1
Gouda with Cumin x1
Stilton x1
Dolchellatta x1
Brie x1
Cheshire x1
Wensleydale x1
Wenseydale with Cranberries x1
Camembert x1 (all mine baked with whole garlic cloves)
Cream cheese x1 tub
French Roule with garlic and herbs x1

I am thinking about still getting some Stilton with apricots, but that may be one cheese too many, do you think? That with maybe some Emmental or some Edam, I think Emmental. I could do with at least one sheep or goats cheese too.

@Julieathome if you can get hold of some pecorino, that would be very tasty, especially with ripe pears - very refreshing too.

Mmmmmm yes @Isis the proper stuff is just gorgeous..i must buy some..i will enjoy that and prefer to squander calories on it rather than say get stuck into a tin of Celebrations or similar. xx

Thanks, it would be too late for Christmas, I think but good for New Year's eve. Not Toblerone though, we can find it here, only typical British stuff we can't have. Is it crazy that, even 20 years later, I feel a bit homesick and have cravings and needs to find again tastes I loved ? I am sure it is...
I have been strong all week, I've made hundreds of biscuits, truffles and 2 cakes, and only sampled 2 biscuits!

Got home from taking the kids to school and nursery and handing over the goodies, and have just eaten 4 slices of nutella on crispbread. Why? Why why why????? Never going to reach my xmas club target now :(

Oh well done @Nicky_94 on making and resisting all those lovely goodies.....
4 crispbreads with Nutella! Meh! A mere nothing compared with all the calories you DIDNT consume
This time of year is really tricky for all of us..i take my hat off to all of the members here who are busy cooking and baking etc for guests, school xmas fayres, etc and being so restrained in what they sample! X
Ahhh, thanks CandiceMarie, your wise words have put my little blip into context and made me determined to be normal for the rest of the day...I was at a crossroads where I could well have gone down the 'oh well, I've ruined it now so I might as well go mad' route, which would have been silly.
Sooo pleased @Nicky_94. That's why this site is so great..we all understand each others' problems and can help each other along the way! Xx
I have spent yrs doing the "oh i ve blown it now ..might as well just draw a chair up to the fridge and eat"
Not gonna do that any more ! xx
Look what I just found

Need I say more.... :eat: :worship:
