I have just begged from my closest work colleagues and I have been provided with a low carb protein bar which should keep me going. The moral of the story is, don't try and fast after a heavy weights session early in the morning!
I hope you haven't got too much planned today?

@Debs can you get Babybels over there - little discs of cheese, red wrapper, 61cals a shot ?? I have one with me on a fast day at work, and it hits the spot very quickly if you feel at all hungry.

@Silverdarling did you ever get one of the little plastic pots which came with babybels to melt them in the microwave. Blimey my daughter loves them. Mind you she eats more than me before she gets to lunchtime anyway.

Ooooh no @carieoates - didn't even know such a thing existed  will have to go and find one now! Didn't have any Babybels before this time last year, when the lady at the place I was staying on Skye used to put them in the fridge to take out in packed lunches. Got a real taste for them, then found only 61cal. And protein, so good for getting over that hunger pang without waking the carb monster

I am now 2kg heavier than I was at my lowest at the end of February. What am I doing wrong? I have tried pretty much everything but to no avail.

 Sending you a big HUG @Debs just before I go to bed,
I can feel your frustration, I'm not sharing it just yet as my gain was 300g but still a gain which is demoralising.
I'm carrying on with the low carb routine because I've a holiday on the horizon and so wanted to lose the half stone before I go, but hey ho the Easter bunny may have delivered me some chocolate that'll be rationed.

You mentioned you was fatburning so can't explain reasons for your gain
Are all your bloods up to date? thyroid etc just a thought.
:clover: :clover: :clover:

Yes, thyroid was fine the last time I had it checked. Just don't know what is going wrong.

Just a thought-are you trying too hard? I sort of plateaued but decided to remove all pressure by removing my target altogether and to keep 5:2ing until I reached my birthday and then decide what to do. Since then I have started losing again 3ish lbs. -but I did start being a bit stricter about normal days as I knew I was probably letting some bad habits slip in. I have been pleasantly surprised and I haven't made much effort.

My hubby said the same thing Merlin, you may well be right! Too much restriction perhaps.

Hi @Debs, I am posting this now because it has just popped into my head and I don't want to forget it, not because I am contradicting what @Merlin said, that may well be helpful.

Anyway, here's an idea for the back burner - you are trying low, carb and haven't had great results from that as yet. As far as you know your thyroid is fine. Are you taking any meds where weight gain/retention might be a side effect?

If not, have you ever looked into Zoe Harcombe' s diet? I picked up her book in a charity shop, but there is plenty of information on her web site. Her main idea is that many people who have problems losing weight have food sensitivities which cause inflammation. There is a 5- day induction diet where you cut out a lot of things (I know, I know) to see if that triggers some loss. Apologies if you've already given this a go.

No Barbarita I haven't but I am prepared to try it, thank you very much. I am taking low dose hormone tablets for pre menopause, I should check the side effects of those. Going without milk would be hard though.

Just got up and felt very shouty this morning!!!

@Debs I am so very sorry that you have got stuck, some great advice there, medication, stress, and food sensitivity. 19th Dec was my lowest of 12.6. (15 days after my op) wish I could get back there too. I don't think that I drink enough, I remember whenever I started a new "diet" I would drink when I felt hungry or the urge to eat. Now that I'm more disciplined I don't need to mask that hunger anymore. Maybe like you I just don't take enough liquids in. Just a thought.

Thank you too!! I do drink a lot (gin, whisky, red/white lol), as I work in a hot climate so I am aware of the need to keep hydrated up here.We have our urine checked regularly beleive it or not!

Just been given a box of Roses by one of the guys in the office, so sweet, him and the chocolate!!!
