Re: THE VENTING TENT

Some encouragement for you
I have been here to vent a couple of times and sometimes felt like giving up when I have been really good and either put a few pound on or stayed the same. Last week I let myself go a bit and lost a few pounds? I its strange how our bodies hang on to the weight then suddenly let it go. Having now lost over a stone Im quite happy :)
The moral of the story is, hang in there and as long as you are sticking to the 5:2 in time the weight should drop.
Good luck and keep on 5:2(ing)

Nice one @philxjr , so very pleased to see this happy phil once more.

Damn, blast and curses, I've put in 3lb this week!

As many if you know I am a hard core zero calorie liquid faster and I've been doing 4:3 for the last 6 weeks or so for the Easter challenge - no problems, easy peasy. This week I decided to go back to 5:2 liquid fasts so knew I had to be careful. Monday fast no problem, yesterday I got to 6pm and lost it big style and went on a carb overload. Here goes -

Handful of marshmallows
Chicken nuggets with potato wedges
An Aldi Moser Roth chocolate bar
A Lees Macaroon Bar
Half a small Mini Egg Eater egg plus the mini eggs
A packet of mini cheddars
A packer of Walkers crisps

   Seeing it all written down makes me feel quite ashamed of myself.

Does anyone else do things like that. It is almost like I needed to do it. It left me feeling rotten, fat, bloated, sluggish, but now that I have done it I really want to start eating healthy again.

Rant over. Now I'm off to update my progress tracker.

@wildmissus, it sounds like you were trying to get something out of your system by OD'ing on carbs. Now you've done it and realised how bad they make you feel just move on and get back to your regular liquid fasts and you know that any excess you might have gained will soon go. Don't feel bad, sometimes our bodies just need to rebel like a naughty child! Big hugs for doing so well.x

@wildmissusI do things like that too. Sometimes I just cant help myself and then feel really guilty afterward. I actually get quite angry with myself after a mad moment. I would n't worry about it, its all part of life. Chin up :)

Yes @wildmissus, you are by no means alone and I binged on carbs last Sunday in exactly the same way. Every so often it happens, but don't be downhearted, you'll get back on the wagon quickly enough. Next time, send me your mini cheddars though

Hi, @wildmissus and @philxjr, I have the occasional 'event' like that, too! However, I have found that it doesn't make me feel angry or unwell, particularly now that I allow myself to eat whatever I want (including carbs), within reason. It is usually brought on when something (or someone!) has made me cross! Luckily, I have mellowed over the years, so that doesn't happen very often. Even so, I never allow myself to feel guilty about what I am eating, just enjoy it, live in the moment, and get back to 5:2-ing as soon as I can!

I love your honesty wildmissus. How many people have you just helped with your authentic post? So many! We are all so human, not perfect and its so hard when tempting things are in hands reach. Please don't be hard on yourself because I think you're just great! I actually believe in listening to your body and really that's just what you did! Maybe your body thinks 3 liquid fasts is too much? Or maybe not? That's up to you to decide.
Sending hugs,
Xxx julianna
