Manderley - what about a photo - just of your bottom in those jeans - like the one Moogie posted?? Just showed waist of jeans, and waistband of jeans being held out by her hand! It would be one step forward to having a future photo taken
OK
So, here's my bottom. Not a really good picture but it gives you an idea of how much I already lost. I think, anyway...
And what was looking at me while I was doing that awkward thing

Crikey this thread is running rather fast. Hubby and myself were approached by a member of staff in a big supermarket one day to say that we had made his day, in fact his whole week. Why? Because hubby and myself had held hands whilst going around the aisles and I had even stroked hubby's hair, not that unusual I hear you say. It is when the hubby in question is sitting in a powered wheelchair.
It seems rather sad that open displays of affection, especially towards someone who is obviously disabled are very much frowned upon in our society.

Julie, I don't think that they are frowned upon. It's just that, as we grow up, we get so busy and stressed and tired that we forget to hold hands. Although, to be honest, I never liked holding hands, I feel like I'm losing my balance.
The cat in the picture is not mine but the sister of one of mine I am pet sitting until the end of september and she was there only because she thought I would go to the kitchen and give her food
Julie, I think when we found someone who suits us we don't even see they are disabled or not. My partner will be blind in a few years. He has an illness, I don't remember the name of it, which makes that he is losing his sight. We don't know how long it will takes but it's there and I know it since the very beginning, even before we were together. When it'll happened, I will be as much affectionate in public.
I wasn't before him though bicause I felt uncomfortable, but with him it's natural so we are hand in hand in the streets, as soon as we walk, and it's great, natural. The only thing I don't often feel cumfortable with is when he kisses me pationately
Today is ice cream day, a cone, nothing really big. The last one of the year I think

After the summer I stop eating ice cream. This yean I had 8 in total, only on sundays and only cones.
After it will be profiteroles and chocolate mousse and apple pie and crumbles and rice puddings and St Honoré and blueberry pies and I could go on and on and on....

Oh dear, I can't imagine life without ice cream. I eat at least one weekly, 52 weeks per year, with no break.
When I was growing up, Greek kids weren't allowed to have ice cream in the winter because of that urban myth that if you eat ice cream in the winter you might get a cold. Thank God, in my house, we knew that it is actually in the summer when you might get a cold from ice cream so we had it all year long. Bless me mum and dad, I never missed ice cream!

There is a garage that we used to live near to, that has a reputation for selling the biggest ice creams in the county. They are swirly machine cones, but they do vanilla, vanilla and chocolate, or vanilla and strawberry, or strawbwry on its own. When they make them, they make the ice cream rise to 10 inches (25cm) above the cone (grab a ruler and imagine it). On a hot summer day, as soon as one person walks out of the door with a cone that big, you can see a mass exodus of people from cars at the pumps, as they all want one too.
Blimey, I want one!!!
I remember, when I was a teenager, we went in Italy as we always did (to buy alcohol whcih was cheaper there like marsala) and we went to a terasse. I ordered the house ice cream and they came back with a huge glass (you must imagine a cognac glass with easily 2 bottles in it) with something like 15 scoops of ice cream, one for each flavour . It was beautiful but I could finished it, I think I only ate half of it and was full for the day
Today is a fast day, a liquid one. I must be a bit masochistic because I have the pancakes I made last night for them to be frozen just in front of me and I loooooooove pancakes....
To quit smoking is not so hard that I thught, as long as I stay busy anyway. The fast days are the hardest because I used to take a cigarette when I was feeling hungry and I have a newsagents just around the corner but I stay strong. The good news is I don't eat more because of it, the bad news is I drink a lot more coffee now.... Black coffee so it wont hurt muy diet

Maaaaaaany years ago, a new restaurant opened in the seaside village of our holiday house. It was a multi-national, fusion one, which was very unique for that time. Anyway, they advertised their special ice cream and one night we decided to order it. It was the same that you describe above. HUGE cognac glass with tiny ice cream scoops of all colours. They were thousands of them, LOLOL!!! There was whipped cream, syrups, various sprinklers, biscuits... 4 people and we didn't manage it...
