Good morning!
Well, I faced the scale today and it was not pretty (as expected!) My weight is the highest it's been since 2014. But I feel ready to do something about it. I'm really hoping this is the year I can get to my goal weight and find a way to stay there.

As part of that, I thought I might post my stats daily. I'm trying to keep track of a bunch of things, so this would be a way for me to keep track of them in one place and also give me some accountability. People can comment if they want, or not! Also, if anyone wants to join me, that would be fine too. My plan is to have one big thread that I add to every day. However, if people want to join in, they could add to my thread, create their own daily stats thread or we could have a new daily stats thread, kind of like the fasting thread.

I plan to track my weight, # of steps, exercise, eating window times, calories, net carbs and glasses of water/tea.

I will start posting tomorrow!

Thank you!

Hi @cblasz

This sounds like a great strategy for you! It would be nice if the tracker could be amended so that each of the items you are recording could be shown as a graph, table or some such - easier to see patterns than separate posts...

It could be useful for you to also think about the factors that make days go well, or not so well. Maybe also record how you are feeling that day, and any other events of significance?

But I do understand that just making a public record of your stats may well be enough to meet your needs.

Good luck! :clover: :clover: :clover:

Thanks @Sassy1! Actually, I can run reports of these things individually in other places (fitbit, MFP, etc.) but it's more about each day and having to keep good track of it all, if I'm going to be able to post the stats. I'm sure I will certainly add information about what was happening, if I am not meeting all of my goals!

I thought I would start posting tomorrow with today's stats, but seeing as the day is over foodwise and I'll be going to bed soon, no reason not to post them now!

It was my first day back at work (after a week and a day) and my first day of getting back to good habits. It was a bit of a rough start! My stats are not perfect for today, but still a start and better than I'd been doing! Steps/Exercise are going to be a bit challenging at the moment since it is brutally cold out here, but hopefully that will change soon!

Weight: 174.4
Eating Window: 11:30 am - 6 pm
Calories: 1600
Net Carbs: 156
Water/tea: 6 cups
Steps: 8582
Other Exercise: none

Tomorrow should be better!

Weight: 174.5
Eating Window: 1 pm - 7 pm
Calories: 1176
Net Carbs: 101
Water/tea: 5 cups
Steps: 8857
Other Exercise: none

The scale was up a little, but I'm sure that's because I didn't have a stellar first day and probably some residual effects from the holidays!

Today is going to be a little tough, because we are having a snow storm here and therefore schools are closed and I'll be home all day. Snow Day - Yay! I will do my best not to eat all day and when it stops snowing, if it's not too cold I might try to go for a little walk!

Hi @cblasz

I hope you are surviving the storms. The TV footage we are seeing shows such a fierce storm. Brrrrr!

Net Carbs: 144
Water/tea: 6 cups

Other Exercise: none

Well, as I expected yesterday was a little tough, being stuck inside all day. But, at least the scale went down from the day before. School is closed again today, but I will try to do a little better. I'm also supposed to go out tonight., so that probably won't help. But I still feel pretty good about my efforts to get back on track!

Thanks @MerryMelb - it's not too bad. I don't mind the snow and I'm lucky that I don't have to go to work and I live in a condo complex so I don't have to shovel or anything. It is going to be brutally cold this weekend, which is no fun. I especially hate that I can't get outside to walk. But I might venture out to run an errand today and this weekend I might at least go walk at the mall!

Glad to hear that @carieoates! I know you've been successful before, so maybe that means I'm on the right track. Feel free to share your stats or progress here if you want!

Weight: 172
Eating Window: 8:30am-9:30pm
Calories: don't know
Net Carbs: don't know
Water/tea: don't know
Steps: 3169
Other Exercise: none

Yesterday was not a good day for my diet! Between the snow day, frigid temps and then going out at night for dinner and drinks, it just all went to hell! My friend even convinced me (not that she had to work hard at it) to order dessert! I did have a good time though!

So, I will just consider it my last big splurge for a while! In sort of good news, I was supposed to get together with my friends from college today and it was going to be a pot luck type thing, but that got cancelled. So, I should be able to do much better today! Also next week the temps are coming back up , so I'll be able to get back to my walking. :victory:

Weight: 171.9
Eating Window: 10:30 am - 5:30 pm
Calories: 1655 :frown:
Net Carbs: 152
Water/tea: 5
Steps: 4539 :frown:
Other Exercise: none :frown:

I still need a little work on the weekends! I ended up going out to breakfast and then treated myself to a bit of a splurge for dinner at home. However, I did stick to my eating window and except for my chai latte, did not have any sweets and the carbs aren't too bad, considering.

Someone posted this on Facebook: "I've decided my 2018 will start on February 1st, January is a free trial month." I love that. I don't think I need the whole month of January, but I like the idea of having a little time to settle into my new habits!

No eating out plans today, but I still have some leftovers from yesterday, that I'll have for lunch. Going to try to get that mall walking in today!

Weight: 171.9
Eating Window: 9am - 6pm
Calories: 1351
Net Carbs: 104  (only 15g of sugar!)
Water/tea: 7
Steps: 10,431
Other Exercise: 2 miles of slower walking at the mall

I had a surprisingly good day yesterday for a weekend! I made adjustments throughout the day that made a difference. I was going to have a chai latte and then I decided I didn't really want it and got a nice iced tea instead.

Tonight, I'm taking my cousin out for her birthday and she wants Indian food. To be honest it's not one of my favorites and I'm not even sure what to order. I guess the good news is that I probably won't overindulge!

(I've decided to change this to today's weight, instead of yesterday's since I weigh myself first thing in the morning.)
Weight: 172.4 - Official one week weigh in, down 2 lbs.
Eating Window: 12-8
Calories: 890 BEFORE DINNER :frown:
Net Carbs: 74 BEFORE DINNER :frown:
Water/tea: 7
Steps: 8559
Other Exercise: none

Well, my cousin decided she wasn't in the mood for Indian food, which I was happy about, but instead we went to this new Italian place. It was very good, but I'm sure it was a ton of carbs. There was bread and pizza. The scale was up .4 this morning, which is not surprising based on that. There just weren't too many other options. I did draw the line at getting dessert. I think the rest of the week should go better! (I don't usually go out to eat on Monday night!)
Hi cblasz, it looks like recording your stats is working for you!
So far, so good. It really makes me think about what I eat/do, because I know I have to post about it. It's also just good to understand where things go wrong and why! Although, I don't think being 2lbs down means too much. It's just from stopping all the terrible eating I was doing over the holidays etc and only some of the weight I gained then. I still have a VERY long way to go!
