Think todays main issue was that I had to have my dinner at 3pm as was working 4 to 1am last night so crumbled and ate crisps as they were looking right at me as i walked in to thekitchen. Managed to come in at 514 cals today lookingforward to breakfast 2morro! Your post saved the day so thanks horsey x
Thanks Chelseadieter and Queenie! Nice to know my posts are entertaining and helping!
Welcome to this way of life Chelseadieter! This forum is great if you feel like caving and raiding the fridge! Im on here every fast day and most other days but the urge to eat everything within a 5 mile radius has definitely decreased!
Blimey queenie! Working 4 til 1am sounds horrendous! I work til ten pm-ish and I thought that was bad! Well done on sticking to 500 cals though! You can relax now and enjoy your feast day tomorrow! Ha ha about the crisps looking at you! I say that about the creme eggs at work! Big tub of them on the counter next to me in their shiny colourful wrappers calling out "eeeat meeee! You know yooou want toooo!" I wonder how many of them I can fit in my mouth in one go?....

Fast day today and looking forward to my dinner later! Fast days have been ok but not been in the mood for them this week. Think im being too impatient as only lost a lb last week and dont think I have lost any inches. I know a lb is a lb and there are others who have not shed any or even put on so I should just suck it up and stop moping. Probably just a bad day. Even though I have lost more weight than I have in years, no one has noticed. Guess that shows how much more needs to go! I am planning completely new hairstyle though for when I am looking slimmer. Like on makeover shows at the end and its all 'ta daaa!' Dont you look different and fabulous! Just need to rope Gok Wan in somehow!
Horseygal you have lost 15 whole lbs, i will swap my meagre 5.5 lb!! Even if they haven't noticed get something that weighs 15 lbs (i sometimes weigh baked bean tins) that is a fairly big chunk of weight that is no longer on your body!!
Keep going it's obviously working for you.

In past experience, I've needed to lose 2 stone to have people notice. I'm no better, someone I know lost 8 STONE and didn't notice...
Don't say that! I've got exactly 8 stone to shift and I'd be gutted if no one noticed!
They did feel a whole lot better for it!
Horseygal I've really enjoyed reading this thread and your enthusiasm shines through. I've now lost 15lb too so share your joy. Not sure how it went, it seems too easy? Sounds as though you work really hard and long hours. Been there, we used to work till 2am when getting the business going a few years ago. Thankfully reaping the benefits now and I don't think I could do it these days, getting too old.
What a long weary winter we are having though, I'm tired of mucking out and carting hay about aren't you?

Thanks Alibaba, I am just being a grump today I have had my dinner now so feel better!
I had 8 stone to lose too Catscratch, we will get there! If no one notices after I have lost 8 stone I am going to strip naked wherever we may be! That will make them notice! And I will be slim enough to do it then!!!
Thanks Gillb, glad you enjoy the thread. Yes I am overjoyed I have lost 15lbs and even if I plateau this WOE is doing me good and I am healthier than I have been in about 20 years! Slow and steady wins the race!
Yes I am fed up of pushing wheelbarrows of hay bales through the mud in the rain and snow. Bring on the horseflies and sweetitch instead!

I am determined to get there and this time I think thisWOE will enable me to stay there.
I'm looking forward to being able to shop in 'normal' clothes shops and just pick something off the rail and do it justice.
Also for my rings to fit the fingers they were meant for. There's a million things I could mention...............

Thanks Catscratch, you hit the nail on the head there, especially about the rings!
Well I worked 14hr days the last couple of days so not had chance to post, but was very surprised and happy to learn I had lost another 1 and a 1/2 lbs! Been expecting id plateau for a while but think im just too big to start with, so a greater loss at the start to begin with is expected.
I have to add my mum's good news though. At the age of 71 (dont tell her I told you!) she has dieted within an inch of her life for years and barely lost the odd pound, has lost a total of 9lbs! She fluctuated with the first four lbs for about 4 weeks but is finally on a consistent loss for the first time in years. Im happier for her than I am for me! Thank goodness for 5:2! I finally feel like I could be the person I really want to be.

Well dne horseygal! Your doing so well, im 15.5lbs down since mid jan 3 weeks on this. Slowly but surely ill get this off. One week at a time if I keep going 1lb and a time I keep thinking that by feb 2014 I will be at my goal! Thats including a few weeks of no losses. I have just finished a 13hour shift wish I could do fast days at work but managing a restaurant and doing fast days dont work as at the end of every night they thru so much food in the bin that I cant help n nibble some!
15.5lbs is brilliant loss queenie! Well done you! Gosh working in a resturant must be torture being surrounded by food! I waitressed years ago and was always scoffing leftovers! Its really hard to throw food away as it feels so wasteful. I like your positive thinking though. I havent worked when I can reach my target weight but I think I will. Give me something to aim for!
Weigh day was last Thursday and I was pleased to have lost another pound (and a quarter) so I have lost just over 17lbs altogether. Still expecting to plateau but fingers crossed I havent so far.
Really heavy snow here so have been a bit housebound, so not getting as much exercise done as I normally would. Pony is currently stable bound and so far is quite happy having a duvet day but is eating me out of house and hay! Roll on warmer weather!
Looking forward to Easter next weekend and being able to scoff chocolate eggs guilt free! Ooh and hot cross buns! Supermarkets are doing ones with chocolate in now! Mmmmm. Who else will be doing the same?

Well its been a couple of weeks since I last posted but still been doing 5:2. Finally had my first plateau a couple of weeks ago and didnt weigh myself last week as was away from home. Going to do 2 fasts this week and see if theres been any change. Despite the scales not changing, people are actually starting to notice im losing weight. Its funny as when I first started, I was met with such negativity about this WOL, but now people can see how its working, they are talking about trying it themselves. Its very hard not to say I told you so!!
Holiday booked for 5th may, so really looking forward to that and being slimmer than I was last year!
