It's great when people notice your weight loss, isn't it? I love your positive attitude towards this WOE (it matches mine!)and the fact that you have acknowledged and accepted that you are in it for the long haul. Good luck and keep the faith!
Doing my first 4:3 this week so on third fast day today and its going well. Long double shifts in work so I wont have time to eat so thought I may as well get another fast day in to give myself a boost before my holiday!
Have reached a stone and a half loss this week too (so far) so I'm really pleased about that. This half a stone has taken almost twice as long as the first stone but a gradual loss is a good thing and at least its going in the right direction!
The thing I am most impressed with on this WOL is how my attitude to food has changed. At the start I was able to 'resist' food quite happily when something delicious went past under my nose, but now after 11 weeks, I am not even interested! I went for dinner (on a non-fast day) with friends (one of whom on SW) and I was quite happy after just a main meal whereas everyone else scoffed a big piece of triple chocolate extra gooey cake and I didnt even want any, even though I could have done if I wanted (I hope this doesn't sound like bragging!). Now if anyone on here actually knew me, they would know how shocking this is as 4 months ago I would have knocked anyone out the way (old ladies, small children, you name it!) to get at that cake! How things have changed!
Absolutely loved reading this thread, horseygal! Very entertaining and truthful (: I'm new to 5:2 but hoping to be like you one day, saying no to chocolate cake!

I'm starting fairly early in life because I could feel the weight creeping up, and if I could lose the stone I want to then I know I'd do anything in my power to keep it off (forever!). Hit the gym today and going riding for the first time in 2 months next week so sharing the pony love here :)

Congrats on your weight loss, keep it up!
Your thread is both entertaining and inspiring - please keep it up :like:
Thanks Beth and Winsome! Glad you like the posts! Writing them and reading other peoples has definitely helped to keep me motivated!
Glad to hear your getting back in the saddle Beth! Best place to be in my opinion! Im in the North West too!!

Work was a flipping nightmare tonight and normally would have gone for the chocolate followed by the pub, but was very good and stuck to my fast day. You can bet your boots ill be in the pub after work tomorrow though!!!
Blimey! I cant believe it has been a month since I last posted on here!
Well I had a check up with the nurse last month and was pleased to hear my BP has gone from 140/82 to 132/74 and my BMI is now just in the obese range rather than morbidly obese, which is very motivating! I cant wait to get to a healthy BMI.
I have been on holiday, which is another reason why I haven't been on here, so I did not do any fast days while I was away. I had put on about 9lbs :pig: when I got back but seeing as I had lost 7lbs within a couple of days, I think it was mainly fluid! I did drink a lot of beer....

I have to say fast days are definitely in my way of life now and even coming back off holiday has made no change to that whatsoever and I did expect it to be difficult. Finally a WOE I can cope with!
Oh and I got into a size smaller pair of jeans that had been hiding in my wardrobe last weekend! Hurrah!
That is very good news re. the blood pressure, you must be pleased! I have read your posts for the first time today and really enjoyed them. Thank you!
