I’ve been keto for over 3 years now, and what I’ve noticed is that I’ve been maintaining. My goal is to get and maintain my goal weight or size and I’m giving the 16:8 protocol a chance. I’m wrapping up week 2 and my first goal is to fit into my Tory Burch white jeans that have been hanging in the c...

Hi, I’m new to fasting. I have an autoimmune disease called myasthenia gravis. I’m currently on a high dose of prednisolone (60mg daily), but need to lose weight quickly for another medical condition to be treated. I’m on azathioprine (75mg daily) and mestinon (and gastric drugs) for the MG. I also ...

I hadn't realized inulin was supposed to be good for insomnia. I'll have to keep that in mind for my next bout with insomnia. Right now I'm so exhausted from cycling to work, sleeping hasn't been an issue.

Having watched Dr Michael Mosley consuming powdered inulin (made from red lentils and chick peas) to help stop his bad insomnia, and being reminded of Angela Rippon trying it for anti-aging and visceral fat removal, I've decided to give inulin a shot. A 5g teaspoon of it in a drink at night was used...

Thanks Candice I am rather pleased this is working for me so far after years of yo-yo dieting. I began this journey in February by doing Sarah Wilson's I Quit Sugar program on my own! It was hard and I suffered awful nausea and insomnia but I did it and lost about 5 kilos. I then tried cutting down ...

Today is the first day "back to basics" for me. I quit smoking, cold turkey, nearly 3 weeks ago (and that's the longest I've been without a smoke for the last 20 years so it's a big deal) and, since I quit, I put a bit of weight back on. I think some of it is pure water retention, I can fe...

No dinner last night. I was exhausted and fell asleep around 08:00PM to wake up just after midnight until nearly 03:00AM  I always had some insomnia but these days it's crazy. Today it's a casserole/stew of lentils, onions and some smoked sausage https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morteau_sausag...

The first couple of weeks were tough getting used to the hunger pangs and insomnia, like Maderley my eating schedule was on autopilot. I do recall really being charged up and motivated by the Horizons Eat, Fast, and Live longer program. And once I started seeing results, which was within the first c...

Th key word is "supposed to". I am a weird thing when it comes to sleep, nothing, and I mean nothing helps, ever. You could give me 5 times the recommended dosage of spleeping pills that I wouldn't sleep. My average is 4 hours a night..... The magnesium I take is made of magnesium citrate...

Like LibrayCat I am two fasts down this week having tried 5:2 before. I have coped very well with the fasting - I would like to lose around 7 kilos and think with patience I could do it but have one problem - on fast days I suffer from terrible insomnia. For now I take just one a day. As I never take supplements a small dose should do the trick. On a fast day I take it with a mug of soup around 3;00PM. No intestinal issues for now but my insomnia has increased. I wonder if it has something to do with it
