Thanks @tracieknits wishing you an early spring this year. I did not get round to making the brownies today, but will tomorrow and then take them to work on Monday for a jury tasting! @Azureblue I had a low carb day (just stuffing with my with roast chicken), sorry to hear about your back ache, hope it rests up soon.
Happy Sunday - 1st of the month so I'm focused on keeping within my TDEE today. Busy afternoon - writing a report, tidying the home, followed by lamb steak dinner and vegetables and then preparing for the week of work ahead. Hoping to find time to make the sweet potato brownies too which I'll have to taste today as Monday is fast day. Really putting of writing this report!!!
My Monday fastday is over sooooooooooooooooooon - it is 23.19 so bed is calling me.
My TDEE is 1330 - a lovely light lunch and a delicious dinner. No snacks works for me.
How are you spending your non fast TDEE today?
Liz :clover: :like: :victory:
I'm fasting today. I was good yesterday until 9pm, when I got really hungry and we ate a bit too much :-( This morning I realized that was the PMS monster.

I had a chicken breast, roasted cauliflower and sauteed zucchini with onion for dinner. So I'm just trying to plan a food day tomorrow that doesn't overdo.

I've made that recipe and if you cut it into 10 brownies it works out to 185 calories. Make it 20 pieces and it's 93 calories.

Be warned it's very moreish
I was good on Monday which was my fast day. Today however I'm having a really bad one and I'm struggling to stay away from the fridge!!! And it's not even a fast day!!! I really find non fast days difficult but I'm not giving up. Light dinner for me I think.
Hey all, what a great idea for a thread. I'm having difficulty again as well. I told myself that I was going to have the exact same thing for lunch as I did yesterday on my fast day and that I would feel full. Not so, I ate the melon and strawberries and walnuts which was good, then I had a blueberry muffin (the last one thank goodness), some grapes and then started on the crackers. I ate about 20 of the things and they are so high in calories. I ate them even though I was full! again! How do we stop over eating when already stuffed? I wish I had remembered this thread before I ate the darn crackers. Well, I will add up the calories I've already eaten and then eat a supper according to how many I have left. I CAN eat properly on a non-fast day. I have resisted the open bag of chips/crisps that my son left in the living room and managed to not ask him for a piece of the scrumptious looking chocolates last night which he brought home from school (his teacher gave him all the sweets she had in her house. Wanna bet she's trying to lose weight? Not so good for Adam's teeth! ). I am proud of myself for that, at least. Good luck to all non-fasters today! :clover: Stay strong!

Wow thank you. I have been silly busy, ingredients still on hand.
@Cyclone have you searched the website for further goodies? Night night
Hi @Tutti@Stephd yes stay strong today and every day, I think this is a good thread conversation. The greatest message the forum has sent me is the kitchen is closed. And it works for me. Have you tried that mindfulness moment? Another friend shared she is tempted to eat through being bored. I think we have to find a balance in our journey. Welcome on board
Hi all, especially @Lizbean (NB as you know I am NOT supposed to be on the forum today as I have lots to do, but thought I would have a quick - haha - look while having my mid morning coffee. Will reply to your PM later tho).

Just wanted to say that I must remember to post in this thread on my non-fast days, as I just can't seem to keep within my TDEE. I think I am really going to have to try "the kitchen is closed" again, and make it a rule that applies between meals and that I have to observe no matter what. Lizbean, buddy, lots of help needed here!!

So I totally understand your situation @stephd. Did you manage to limit the cals for the rest of the day? I find that if I have too much of something I would prefer not to, early in the day, then I continue in that fashion. I think the only solution for me is to not have carbs early in the day - though I can easily overindulge in nuts, cheese, etc too. Argh!

As well as posting here for support, please also share any successful strategies you have for not over-eating on non-fast days.
Good luck! :clover:

(Btw I am fasting today)
Hi everyone! Yesterday was my second FD since I started 5:2 last week. This last FD was harder then the first.... But I managed to get through the day on under 500 kcal.
Today I have very little energy, and I am so tired I feel like I am drunk  I was up a little to long last night reading a book about 5:2. It was quite interesting!
By the way, what does TDEE means? I am having a little trouble with reading all the abbreviations on this forum, since I am norwegian  Is there som sort of abbreviation wordbook on the forum I can study?

To @Sassy1 : I find it easiest to destract my self from food by using my hands for something else than eating. What about knitting, sewing or even painting furniture? All fun activities! (man, did I sound very old now?...)
Hoping everyone has a very good day!
@norwegian_girl TDEE stands for Total Daily Energy Expenditure..
Meaning how many calories per day you can eat to maintain yr weight, taking into account yr age, height and current weight and level of activity. To lose weight, obviously you need to eat less than daily requirements.
If you keep to / a little below yr total daily requirements for five days, plus yr two fasting days you should lose on average one pound a week
Searched for TDEE on fastday and it came up with
http://thefitgirls.com/tdee-calculator.aspx
Click on this link and you can work out yr own TDEE..if you are unsure of yr activity level,go for the lower one x
Hope this helps
By the way,i saw a documentary on tv last night set in Norway..so beautiful !
Also,yr English is wonderful...i can't speak a word of Norwegian! ( tho i learnt how to sayHappy Birthday from this programme but have forgotten now!) x
Aargh, I should have popped into here yesterday, because the bits and bobs (a few maltesers, a bit of leftover cheese with a couple of crackers, a glass of wine...) added up to as much as a weekend day. ! I try to have a bit less on Tues and Weds to allow for the dangers of fri sat sun! (Fast days are Mon Thurs). Right, I will really try to make today be less guilt-inducing... Have a good normal-eating day everyone
Walking is my strategy on non fast days, however yesterday I was housebound so I kept going in the kitchen. I redeemed myself slightly and only went over by 100cals. However today I've decided on making it a fast day rather than Thursday. I'm rather busy so that should be good also quite busy the rest of the week so I'm determined to make it happen.

I'm glad that this thread is up and running. Will check back regularly. Nice day to all x
Fasting till 11 and then out for lunch. I'm getting my hair cut after work and they always offer me a glass of wine, so that will be my main indulgence for the day. It would be rude to refuse, right? A small dinner before my window closes at 7.

Have a great day everyone!
