My fiancee has joined me which really helps! He already lost about 1kg too.
My husband and I are doing this together. Both recently retired so a bit less active than previously, so getting slightly expanding waistlines....but more interested in the health benefits, than weight loss.
Just me so far. I introduced my husband to the concept, he said he was game and we've worked out that we'll both have our fast days during the days of the week that he lives/works out of town and block off the weekends for feasting and/or boozing together. But I've no idea if he's started or not, so I consider myself to be on my own aside from this forum.
I am doing this with my partner and find it simplifies things greatly if two people in the same household eat and fast at the same time- we try to stick to the same two days every week but are flexible enough to change the days if necessary.
The forum is brilliant and we both have a look to see what is going on quite regularly- PLEASE KEEP IT GOING!!!!
I am doing this with my 21 year old son, my husband and a friend from online. Love it :)
Myself and husband both are doing 5:2 since beginning Feb and find that doing the same 2 days as each other is much easier. Was told about diet by a friend who was recommended it by her doctor so we chat 5:2 when we get together. Watched Horizon program and bought Michael Mosley book. Recent medical at new doctor as both of us are over 40 showed us as perfect blood pressure and no sign of sugar in our water so health benefits appear to be working.
Hi,
I have my husband, mum, sister in law and best friend all 5:2ing, it's great to be able to text or phone them and share tips etc
There are 3 of us doing it at work - is good to have allies when the cakes come out as they do most Fast days :-)
My MIL and FIL got both my hubby and I started on the diet and have been such a great amount of support!
Hi Moogie, I have several real life buddies on 5:2

-Younger daughter and her husband say its for life( they have 3 small children)
-My OH very keen: lost over a stone on Very low cal diet for health reasons, hasn't put on any more but hoping for gradual loss now. Think it's happening.
- good friend at work, we have done diets together before, but she and her OH are now firmly on 5:2
- colleagues in staff room ( I teach) lots are having a go so there's lots of support and talk, all feel great!
-My brother and wife, v enthusiastic.
- v close friends living in Malawi and Portugal now and then, v keen will start 5:2 next week when back home in Mw.
(- waiting for elder daughter to try this ....procrastinating.)

All but one saw the Horizon programme, but I sent them all copies of the book as gift...hint hint!
There's no doubt everyone feels good.
Katharina
Is this thread still alive? :?: Just wondering....I have two real life buddies, my OH (mind you I think I am more of an inspiration to him rather than the other way round  ) and my elder son (my son does 5:2 just to maintain his weight....because my daughter-in-law is a very, very good cook!).
Do on-line buddies count? :victory:
@Moogie I hope you're home by now and feeling a bit better? I don't expect a reply at the moment, just thinking of you.
Plenty of online buddies right here..none inm y day to day life tho friends are very encouraging..tho none of them want to join me..my daughter is doing 16: 8 if that counts ? X
Just me alone. OH tried one day and gave up at lunch ;)
I'm doing this on my own. I'm in the U.S. and I don't think it's as big here yet. So, I'm VERY thankful for this forum!
