Relating to a little bit of research I've been asked to help with!

In the real world, are you doing 5:2 alone or with a group of friends/family/co-workers?

If you have friends/family/co-workers doing 5:2 with you, how many are in your 'group'?

Is the forum your main network of support, or are your real life co-dieters?

Thanks for this!
Hi Mooogie
As I live in France without any close friends nearby, I am doing this alone but with the support of my OH.
The forum is my main support network and I am fascinated every day by the different experiences and expectations of the many contributors from the mundane to the truly awesomely informed so-called nerds! It really is completely doable on your own if you have this forum to support you.
OH is fasting once a week but with a normal meal at the end of the 24 hours. My best friend and her OH are also following the diet.

Because I'm on the forum so much I'd day the forum is the best support, but its hard to tell now I've been going for so long!
Hi Moogie,
Im doing the diet alone.
Apart from occasionally boring my husband with how I really believed I've cracked the diet thing "this time",
This forum is my only support.

So now is probably a good time to take the oppurtunity to thank you and Carorees for the massive effort you put in to making this forum so fantastic. Cheers
My husband and I have been doing it together since January. He was the one that heard about 5:2 and wanted us to get started and once I learned what it was all about, we did!

He is great at pushing me to be creative about what we eat and encouraging me to share what we are doing on my blog. He set up a studio in our kitchen so I can easily photograph the delicious meals I'm creating, and you can bet he is enjoying the results!

I have a friend locally who is also doing it, and we both go to Zumba class once a week.

I do get a lot of additional support from here, two Facebook groups and several others doing 5:2 on MyFitnessPal. I am learning so much from everyone and find it very encouraging to read the success stories and share ideas.

I also feel that I have quite a lot to offer in supporting others with practical suggestions and information as I do enjoy researching and joining the dots.

The online support really makes fasting days fun!

For the long term my husband and I are going to be helping each other to keep it going, so I think it is ace that we are both of the same mind with regard to this.
I'm doing this on my own, but with a very supportive OH and Son. They are the only ones that know about it, as I think my friends wouldn't 'get' it. Once I've lost a reasonable amount of weight and people start noticing, then I'll tell them what I'm doing.
So, this brilliant forum is definitely my main area of support.

I have two colleagues at work and we are all supportive of each other. We all know our fast days and keep each other off the chocolates and biscuits that always seem to be there. (Just how many birthdays are there in February and March? :?: )

I find the forum the most helpful, particularly on fast days! It's also good just to keep you going and I have found lots of the advice really helpful, particularly when I first started.

My OH is supportive, although he is not doing the diet, he has the same salads etc. only a little bit more! He is losing weight but then he is a lot more active than me!!
Just me and hubby 5:2ing, so this is definitely my main place for support and advice. It would be very difficult without it. :)
Started on my own but OH has taken interest and has completed two fasts with me and is looking forward to the next. It does help to have his support and this forum. The inspiration, motivation and information provided here are invaluable to beginning and learning this WOE.
I am doing this on my own, only told my husband so far, this great forum is my only support
I know a few people who do various forms of intermittent fasting and have chatted about it with them but I wouldn't say that anywhere is my "support network." I find it so very easy to do that I don't need support. I just like chatting about it!
my parents have been doing this for about 5months, im just a newbie. they have been very inspiring. I find thia forum brilliant for advice encouragement
They have just contacted me about writing a testimonial! I have plugged the benefits of the forum!
I am doing this diet on my own and this forum is the only "support" I have but, like Your Funny Uncle, I am not sure it is support and think it is rather chatting with like-minded people on this topic.
I should probably add that although my wife is not doing 5:2 she has been very supportive. She doesn't do anything like eating huge cream cakes in front of me on fast days!
