Back in the NE, after quickest trip up A19 in some time last night ... various jobs to do over the weekend before going back to work!

Hope you have a productive day SD!
It's a bit of a grey start here too (probably because of the footie...sorry but I had to mention the F word!)
Off for a cappuccino first thing (despite it being a fast day...doh!) and then I need to knuckle down and order some Funkos! Feeling a bit stressed now. It's more difficult than I thought. How many items should I order? Which ones? Doh!
Have a great day folks!

Morning all - Feeling happier today after weighing and finding that the weight I had added from last weeks festival is back off after two fast days
That's great news Phil. I know you won't care but the festival went off well here, we heard nothing, in fact some folks though it was not happening, the village was very quiet and TIDY, I know this was not all down to you personally but I hope you enjoyed it anyway

Thanks Ballerina. We did have a good time thanks. It was quieter this year as the line up wasn't so good. I think there were only around 50,000 people. A few years ago when Ac/DC headline there were over 90,000 I think. Im pleased you were not effected by it, must me a nightmare to have thousands turning up in your town. I think some of them are away from mummy and daddy for the first time too and cant handle their drink!
Thanks@janeg was really good. Looking forward to the next one now. We normally do Hard Rock Hell in wales in the winter too but missing that one this year as we will be in Jamaica for Step Daughters wedding. Its a hard life but someones gotta do it lol
Morning all, just popping in to say hello because quite simply I'm off back to bed. There have been too many late nights this week. Hubby and his pain levels again this week, and too many early mornings due to neighbors needing a babysitter from 7am (she had to travel to the Polish embassy in London to get her daughters passport sorted) and workmen and parcel deliveries.
So I'm biting the bullet and heading back to bed. It will take up a few more hours of my fast day.

Hello, I have a Cake question and couldn't find the Foodie thread so I thought I'd ask in here...
Has anyone tried Mary Berry's chocolate traybake cake? I am thinking of making it for my DS's 18th in a couple of weeks, we will be away from home and I thought it would be easier to transport than a tradional sandwich type cake.
Second question - the recipe includes a ganache type covering made with chocolate and cream, would I need to keep it refrigerated after I cover/ice it?
Thanks in advance and apologies to anyone fasting today

Hi, @SianS! I didn't know the answer to your question re ganache so I phoned my daughter in Madrid. She owns and runs a bakery there and uses ganache all the time to provide a 'crumb coating' on celebration cakes. Her answer is that it won't need to be refrigerated and ganache keeps for weeks but it may get a bit 'melty' if it gets too hot! Hope this helps. Your cake sounds delicious!
Ahh that was nice of you Stowie@StowgateResident
How lovely to have a daughter A) in Madrid and B) running a yummy bakery!
Do you get to visit often?
And is it next week you go on yr cruise? X
