Re: CHATTERBOX CANDY!!

Had an "interesting experience" yesterday. One of my choirs performed Carmina Burana at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Very posh and a full house. However it didn't go exactly as planned. Halfway through the morning rehearsal our conductor fainted and fell off the podium,. After a short break, the rehearsal continued but she had another turn at lunch time and the paramedics carted her off to the Epworth Hospital. Eeek! Luckily when she first went down, the call went out for a stand-in conductor who rushed in from an outer suburb. We had a ten minute session with him and the concert started 10 mins late. However, it went remarkably well, with just the occasional untidiness. Everyone was watching like a hawk. We didn't want to let our conductor down after all her hard work. We got a marvelous ovation at the end which was lovely. :victory: Absolutely wrung out though. Haven't heard any more news about her health. Hope she's all right.

Don't know what the problem was exactly but they sent her home at 6.30pm with strict instructions to rest for at least 3 days. She'll being spitting chips. Not the sort to take well to such instructions. An adrenaline junkie like all conductors I think.

Ah Carmel Bananas- my non diving daughter sang the solo bits in it when she was about 14. Stirring stuff as you say @PennyForthem
Sorry, don't mean to be disrespectful @chook ;) Hope you enjoyed the experience and the conductor recovers. Hats off to you- stage fright put paid to my singing...

@manderley you can safely eat an egg well past the use by date. Just crack it into a bowl and if it smells ok, it is ok to eat. Also, I've never had any problem eating eggs several days in a row. In fact, I virtually lived on eggs when my twin babies were tiny. I needed quick food that I could snatch between the endless feeds. Lunch was almost always ham and eggs on wholemeal toast, washed down with creamy milk... Then with my evening meal LOTS of peas - the most nutritionally complete veg and always fresh from the freezer. Must have done me good as I managed a good supply to feed my babies for eight and a half months

Just been to view some photos from a casual beach shoot that my friend did a couple of weeks ago. They were her first shoot for a local studio and the viewing was also a training session on the viewing software. Some shots will be used for promotional pics  the good bits are that a) they were really great pictures and b) they are charging a fraction of the regular price

@winsome i had no idea peas were that good for you! I often crave peas and always eat tons of them when i get a craving..have just googled them and read how unique they are and how good for us,being anti inflammatory!
Bring on the peas!x

@candicemarie my husband is truly addicted to Birds Eye garden peas. As a bachelor I don't believe he ever prepared any other vegetable  If he doesn't get peas at least every other day, he has a strop! Holidays are a trauma on the vegetable front - probably explains why he likes self catering holidays in Jersey where they are readily available
