I really admire you to have the guts the guts to dare open a shop like that. I would love to build something, be my own boss (I was thinking of taking care of other's pets, a kind of pet sitting) but can't.

Hey beano @nursebean this is strange..i just looked at User Panel and it says i havent visited since May 25Th! Wonder where i've bean for the last month when i thought i was on here !
Urgh just received a top from ebay and it smells strongly of cigarette smoke

Yikes!! Send it back Candice!!! and make sure you get your money back, I much prefer Amazon myself, never had any problems with refunds and such...

Guess what i got today..been trying to track it down,found it today..
Carte D'or Salted Caramel ice cream..and guess what,i was very disappointed!
It just tastes like any old caramel or toffee flavour ice cream..
And whats worse,its a fast day and i wasted some precious cals on two spoonfuls.
Oh well Ange,at least ive got the craving out of my system!

I have some Hagen daas salted caramel and it's definitely salted! It's creamy and sweet and savoury. I'd never had salted caramel until this and it's the fault of you lot chatting about it recently!
I haven't enough cals for some tonight though
I made a pledge to @sue.q to be good this week! As I was so bad yesterday, I need to be extra good this week

Hi CD, I'm also not a fan of the Carte D'or salted caramel ice cream, not a patch on the Sainsbury or Co-op expensive ranges or Hagen Daas now they are gorgeous. Actually, I'm not keen on carte D'or at all, funny greasy texture to me, yuk. Give me one spoonful of good quality ice cream over a whole tub of cheap stuff any day.

Completely agree with @Ballerina here, altho haven't had Sainsbugs version ... Yet! Coop is good, Haagen Daas is better. Ludlow Food Centre was good, but not as good as HD. I am searching out Doddington's, Morwick Dairy and also Spurellis (all local to this part of Northumberland) - all in the service of research, you understand!

Well there I was, in a school just outside Berwick, getting ready to promote this year's Summer Reading Challenge in the county's libraries to the 4-9 year olds, who were all trooping in to morning assembly ...

... And wafting unmistakably from the direction of the kitchens, just behind me (and it was a fast day) was the smell of

Luckily for me I don't get tempted by ice cream very much at all and I really disliked the Aldi salted caramel bomb so I'm not rushing out to buy the stuff.

well I really could right now even though its nearly bedtime, strange that when I get up I don't feel hungry at all maybe I ought to go into hibernation.

@silverdarling - Toast is the devils food sent to test all our senses and self restraint. I struggle to not steal any of Ka's when I'm on a fast day. Haven't tried gum yet as I forget until I start buttering it

Why does other people's toast always smell so good but our own is a bit of a disappointment?
Had a wee taste of HaggenDaz salted caramel the other day and it didn't do much for me. However, the creme brûlée DID do it!
Beloved loves ice cream and it's always a treat for him. I prefer gelato, but so often, what is marketed as gelato is just ice cream *sigh*. And the portions here would feed a small nation- but that's another thread!
