Just catching up while I have my last coffee of the morning. A busy day ahead, fish for lunch and probably veg casserole for dinner. Depends what I have time to make.
Halen Mon do a very nice salted caramel sauce in a jar and I have made salted caramel icecream. Most delicious!

I am out for the night and THIS is the kind of conversation I find when I return ?????

Last week I had a bit of HD salted caramel and this was wonderful. I am not an ice cream nut, I don't eat some often and always the high quality. No fancy taste, vanilla, strawberry and caramel. No chocolate.

I plan trying to make an ice tea (the beverage, not the ice cream  ) with some mint green tea. Have no idea what it will make, as green tea tend to taste really bitter but the ice teas you find in the shops are way too sweet for me now so, have no choice. Wish me luck :clover:

@nursebean you know how I feel about pictures.... I still can't, I am afraid :frown:

There is always the traditional 'Brown Bread Ice cream'. I haven't seen any for years, but loved it when I last had it.
I also love Licorice allsorts icecream.

I'm just having a quick fry up for lunch.

Think i had assumed Carte Dor was a posho one as had never tried it til recently
Had their Eton Mess ( on special offer)last week- rubbish, and the salted caramel was a big letdown, also on offer.
No More Carte D'Or! X money and calories saved :like:

Just adding an idea into this ice cream pot

Last weekend when it was really hot in SE England (10 days ago now) the Telegraph magazine ran a piece on grown up ice lollies, and I was so taken with the idea I went and bought some lollie molds from M&S. The piece I read featured a Mojito lollie which sounded fabulous but as I read more I found that if you add alcohol it stops things from freezing so you have to use sugar syrup to raise the freezing temperature.

The long and the short of it is that by the time I had made and frozen my lollies - 2 Gin & Tonic, 2 Pimms and 4 Mojito, the weekend was over and the weekday curfew had begun. So far we have tried the Mojito ones and the were delicious.

Any other ideas or experiences?

How about a bloody mary or a martini one? Or a campari one?

.... Or .... A margarita! With lime and salt ...maybe you would have to add the salt separately ...

Hi @julieathome, how was the festival? Tell us all about the yummy cheese you ate. What other food did they have there?
Xxx

It was a small festival, but bigger than I expected and it had plenty of choice. The disapointing stuff was the handmade scotch eggs, they were mushy and all of the cider's were awful. They really did taste just like gone off apples. Cheeses galore, a favourite being mango and ginger. The lamb burgers were so nice we bought a pack and, well not much else to report, we just had a chilled day, nibbling this, looking at that and dodging the rain.

I've just had a message from my daughter saying she has just had her second car crash. She's not hurt, the car has a dent (so her hire charge excess is going to be gobbled up) but she finds it rather ridiculous.

her first crash was with a JETSKI and this second one is with a WALL she passes 4 times a day.

Oh dear Julie. Does she drive like her mum?

Woaw, Julie, thank god, she wasn't hurt...

My car is officially good to go for the next 2 years :victory: This is a relief... It's an old lady but, even if I could buy a new car I wouldn't. I love my car, know it by heart and it's rather good looking for 22 years  I was like a mum taking her kid to the doctor, nervous an pacing, staying close to watch everything that was done on it. I hate when someone touch my car

On another note, I am desperately looking for the recipe of home made ice cream with mars bars. The family I lived with in Tunbridge Wells 20 years ago made some yummy ones but I never could find the right recipe since
