@rawkaren thats good news. Being off work brings his own kind of stress which can be hard to keep their minds off. I have my fingers crossed that he makes a full recovery.

Its going to be a health news day today I think. I'm off to hospital with hubby in an hour, the same hospital I had my surgery at, as he is seeing his surgeon for the first time to start discussing turning him into the bionic man. I think its replacing his elbow first, then his knee's and maybe his fingers. We aren't sure at the moment.

As for me, I am really angry at myself. I went to the gym last night and started off on the stationary bike and was trying to shame my youngest into working harder by doing a bit of a sprint. When I pulled a thigh muscle, not the bad side luckily (or is that unluckily?). :curse: I can still walk but twisting or bending is out of the question. Getting hubby undressed last night was a comedy of errors. I am starting to get really frustrated with my life right now. I was hoping life in general would start to get better once I had my operation, but its doesn't seem to be. All the help and support I was getting prior seems to evaporated away, especially from the lads. They seem to be of the idea that now I've had my op they can slide back into be unhelpful slobs. But what did I really expect of men on the autistic spectrum, empathy? A family conference is on the cards, I don't like them because we usually end up with the eldest thinking we are trying to kick him out and the youngest thinking we hate him, yet all we are doing is trying to get them to pull their weight. :frown:

Right the alarm clock has just gone off, I need a quick shower before heading off to the hospital. Catch you all later.

After days of pre-summer warmth and sun, the gods of weather have stroke us - kaboom - with temps round 0C and snow. Snow  Fiona tried to run for home and not even Diego thought it was much fun during the morning walk...

Think I will carry out my Sonos to the greenhouse, turn on the heat and re-plant some seedlings. Or I just crawl under the covers and snoooooozzzzeeee :sleepy:

On top of that I simply have to get started working on my friends curtains.....

Hiya, @candicemarieI had a much better night last night. I went to sleep around midnight and had to get up at 6:15 so at least some sleep. Sorry to hear you not sleeping well and also sorry to hear about your friend. I bet you are amazed where those 23 years have gone since you lost them. Time goes sooooo quick . Feels like I only left school a few years ago although saying that it feels like 10 years since I ate last

My first go of using coconut oil yesterday
Was put off by the look of the lardy white jar but it smelt sooooo good once i opened it
Gaily applied some to hair as conditioner..rinsed and rinsed it,waited to see gleaming locks..alas no..hair stuck down like i'd dunked head in chip pan ( not that i have a chip pan i hasten to add,nor wd i be fool enough to put head in if i did..
tho i must say in passing that one of my few culinary skills used to be making perfect chips in a chip pan)
Have rewashed hair but despite much sudsing, fear it may need another wash..only used a teaspoonful as well :?:
Next experiment ...." pulling" ..
@callyanna i know you use coconut oil in place of other oil in cooking..doesn't it give everything a coconutty taste? X :?: obviously not otherwise you wdnt be using it..but it smells so coconutty...? X

Hi CM, I actually bought a book called 'The everything Coconut Diet Cookbook' by Anji Sandage off Amazon and have used coconut oil, flour, milk and cream for several of the recipes. Apart from those I've also used the oil in curries and stir fries but only where the taste of coconut doesn't overpower the other ingredients.
There was a thread on here ages ago about the various uses of coconut oil including as a hair conditioner/treatment, will try to find it and post you a link later x

Could only manage a minute but can build on that i hope..anyone else find it makes them retch?
@PennyForthemHow is your pulling coming along?
Must say the after taste was so nice n coconutty! Think i might enjoy pulling on a fast day, sort of kid myself ive just had a Bounty bar!
Is there any protocol,do you do it after brushing or before?
I only had a teaspoon,should you have more? X

Ha ha ha., I've only read your last post Candy and have no idea what you're talking about...sounds awful!

I've had to go back to the drawing board with my little who as I've just discovered that selling children's books probably won't make me much profit. I was so looking forward to it. Now I've got to start again

Hey ho...
