Oh way to go @Sue.Q well done. Good on you for your persistence. Can't you fix up your tracker your self, you can just adjust can't you. My tracker is out by 700gms from the start, which I have never been able to get adjusted. But I know from my records and it means my loss is actually 700gms more.

I have not managed to fast this week as I have been far too busy and decided I will just make wise choices. So far so good. Keen to get back on track though. Will be fasting Sunday or Monday. Thanks for asking about my rib. Just have to take some anti-inflammatories my doc said.

Hi fasting buddies @gillymary @daydreamer21 @Jools7 Well the weekend is upon us once again and the weather in the UK is really lovely pity I'm on the way to Tesco. Lol but may get into the garden thus afternoon just to tidy up + deadhead my hanging baskets and bedding borders.
I'm not getting on the scales today because my midweek carb heavy family do is showing on my legs again, I'm feeling bloated, so I'll jump on next Fri for the solstice challenge which I won't make but hey ho who cares.
I will however one way or another reach an all time low figures not seen in probably 20 years and that's more important to me and the way to progress.
Well what's keeping you clever people so busy?

Edit to add moogie put my tracker right and all is well

Hi fasting buddies @Sue.Q drat the yellow band is obscuring the tag button so can't add jools and daydreamer yet. Might have to edit later. I even tried stabbing the yellow band but to no avail. Oops it worked@jools7 @daydreamer21

Why don't we change back to fasting foursome as we really haven't been five for a while or will we invite another unpartnered buddy to join us

My fasting has not been a priority lately. Just in a busy patch with work Sue. Coming up for less stressful times and I will fit a few fasts in then. Am managing once a week and haven't strayed too far away.

DH brought home some beautiful sourdough bread yesterday and I had some for breakfast. TOAST Gee it makes you want to snack all day but tasted very yummy with my home made cumquat marmalade - made from my home grown fruit. (Summer heaven in a jar)

I have not been on forum for days so am off to dive into the active threads. Thanks for the yoohoo Sue and good you got you tracker blip fixed. All the best with your plan sounds good.

Hello, foursomers, @sue.q, @gillymary and @daydreamer21 I'm having yellow banner probs too, but managed to tag everyone I hope.

Good to hear of those 20-year lows Sue, how wonderful! I've had a carb-heavy week too, so I'm not using the progress tracker either today. Gardening sounds lovely, I have heaps to do in my garden too, just no time at the mo.

Cumquat marmalade sounds great, Gilly. Yum! Good luck with your fasting plans into the future.

Yes I'm in favour of going back to a foursome. I did get a FB msg this week from Jo05, if she wants to post here I'll respond, otherwise I don't have time to reply.

I'm fasting today, and also trying to get into study for an exam on groupwork next Friday. Hmm, left it a bit late, but I'll go for it & see what happens. Starting is the hardest part I find. And I have a cold, so that's a good excuse to swig fruit tea all day, not much good for exercise though, I'll see how I go. I haven't been on the forum much lately, still finding it frustrating & hard to get into. Yellow banner is obscuring my typing atm.

Love to everyone!

Well only had teas so might be a fasting day if not a conversion to window day. I just made a batch of preserved lemons as our lemon tree is loaded up and do so like a tagine. Usually do marmalade as well but having second thoughts this year with the lemons as too much of carb sugar overloading. Now there is a habit being changed.

Am making Osso Bucco next having just foraged in garden for herbs. Our weather has been so warm still have basil to pick. Best part of gardening is collecting home grown fruit veg and herbs and then the some alchemy in the kitchen. Hey presto

Sending warm fuzziness to my fasting buddies

Hello ladies, sorry about my absence again. My back has been really bad for a few weeks so I have been off work for the past two weeks. My doctor has also prescribed me antidepressants to change my brain chemistry to be able to handle more pain. So far all it has done is mess around with my sleeping pattern and making me a little bit hazy. I have been fasting still to keep some regularity. I lost my half term gain but then gained two lbs this week (I think due to water retention). I hope that you are all keeping well, I'm sorry I haven't been around.
I saw the surgeon this week and he said that I don't need to have an operation but there is nothing he can do for me other than an epidural. So I just have to manage my pain, which really depressed me because I can barely manage it as it is, when my pain is really bad I can't even walk and my painkillers do nothing for me. So, I don't quite know what to do with myself at the moment.

@daydreamer21 oh Sammy that sounds awful for you re pain and the antidepressants to change your ability to tolerate more pain stunned me too. Have you already exhausted the avenues such as tens machine, or pain clinic or pain support group or meditation or even acupuncture. Must be very hard. {{{{{{{{{{hugs + }}}}}}}}}} @julieathome has been through a lot of pain maybe she has some leads for you.

@Johanna5 I had given up on your return, sorry about that. Hope things are getting better for you lately, it is tricky when life happens and derails one.

Can't say I am soaring, more like rowing and just hanging in there by the skin of my teeth some days but know that IF works for me and that I have to keep at it. Am just at a point where I can schedule in more fasts and that is timely. How about you Jo

I understand you giving up gillymary. I'm very sorry it was wrong to have not written. It was never my intention.. I did try many letters....long lettters...but they were always too depressing...and i'd not send them.
For me ....fasting has been off for months.

Might go back...but for now....it's walking only.
rowing is a nice metaphor....hopefully the river goes in your favour some days.
I'm impressed you're hanging in there by your teeth.
Jo

@daydreamer21 We seem to be a family of pain here. For hubby, who has Rhumatoid arthritis so need strong painkillers every day, it been a case of shaking up his medications every few months as he develops a tolerance for the ones he's on. So if on Co-codamols, he will switch to Tramadols (though they can give him brain fog) for a month or two, then switch to a tablet called Rimidine Forte (his favourite). When he gets really bad he gets a big injection of steroids that will ease his pain for 6 weeks, it gives him a respite break, but he can only have that done 4 times a year.

For me with my neck and lower back problems (really horrid sciatica) it was painkillers, plus my TENS machine, a monthly massage by sports injury professional and exercise that got me through till I could have surgery.

The surgery didn't cure my sciatica, but the exercises devised for me by the instructor at our local gym certainly have worked. I know they have worked because when I don't do them I get the pain back. If its back problems you have ask to be referred to a physio therapist for exercises (or see a qualified sports injury instructor) and ask to be referred to the PAIN clinic at your local hospital. They will devise a treatment plan that suits you.

On a side note, if you are in pain because you have only just thrown your back out then the doctor won't do anything for a month or two as many problems like this are sorted with time as the healer. Its only if the problem resists that they will send you for MRI's and X-rays. Then they may send you to a specialist for opinions on surgery etc.

Dear @Sue.Q, So nice to see you. I'm sorry i vanished. I loved being a part of caring and sharing. I miss that. Lifes crazy.
Thanks Sue....I'm extra impressed how resilient you and the others are. Its working I'm so happy you have that. I know it worked brilliantly for me...nothing to complain about with the program....i just got hit with too much at once. My little sanctuary in here was hard to protect and life ran over it. And it pained me i couldn't get here to see how you all were.

Bye for now.... :clover: :clover: :clover:

Hi fasting buddies @gillymary @daydreamer21@Jools7
Well I'm on another struggle having failed yesterdays fast resulting in a lowish cal 16:8 then deciding to go for today had a light lunch followed with a low cal/low carb meal followed by a mini bingeing session!!! I now feel absolutely dreadful, what a lesson.
We've some family get togethers over the next two days and although I didn't think I was stressing about any of this who knows? I will now just go with the flow
I've already given up on the solstice challenge but was hoping to to reach my all time low/ hey ho sometime soon just needed to put all this crap down in words to see if that helped, because for some reason my body seems to get a craving for carbs and although I've not eaten bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, no cake,
no red carbs/wine.
 :frown:  just chocolate/brown carbs. :frown:
