I am trying to join the group but I don't seem to be succeeding with Private Messages. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Will keep trying as I love my fitbit.

Thank you tracieknits That's just the sort of talking out of it I required. I couldn't be doing with taking it on and off so much I don't think and also not keen on the idea of never changing the strap.
Convert52 please send me a pm on this forum here with your email address and I will add you to the group ASAP.

Rho164...yes, please come join us as well. Just send a PM to any of us with your email address and we will send you an invite.
It is so exciting to see all these new faces and keep us motivated.
By the way every one, if you don't have the same name on the FitBit forum, will you consider uploading the same avatar you use here? Makes is so much more fun to recognize each other on both sites.

Such a bad week for fitbit!
I am so reliant on walking to work to get my 10,000 steps. On Tuesday I walked to work but then got a lift home from OH and only managed 6000. Today I have driven to work because I have to go to the airport later and i am only at 1350 steps. I feel so guilty.
Yet yesterday walked to and from work and then did some housework and managed 12500 steps.
Just need to get the running back in because it was such a quick way to add steps to my day.

I sent you an invitation convert52. Look forward to seeing you on the board soon
I've also just seen your messages al4285. I'm sorry I didn't get to them on time. Running does get the steps in quickly, but you could always do some jogging around the house or in front of the tv. It all adds up

@SianS woo hoo that's a massive distance I see you shooting up up up.
I've just looked at our leaderboard and the activity score has dissapeared i never fully understood it but. I did like it there. I wonder why it's gone.
Well the fitbit is doing a good job of humiliating me to get off the sofa (except for two days of horrid cramps, but I expect that will only happen one or two days a month). I'm about to get on the treadmill so I don't horribly disappoint the dear husband when he checks in at lunch time
I lent my husband my fitbit for a walk and as soon as he came back, he grabbed the car keys and drove to the nearest John Lewis to get himself one. He does no exercise but walks to and from the tube everyday for work. He's thrilled (and relieved) to find that he clocks in at around 10k steps per day...
I couldn't work out what the activity score was.
Tracieknits, I find walking helps my stomach cramps. It's the last thing I feel like doing (curling up on the couch with a heat pack and cuppa and feeling sorry for myself being what I FEEL like doing.) but if I push myself out the house, I really do get relief, and it helps me feel less crampy for the next few hours.
Hourglass, I think that's the best thing about a pedometer - seeing how much you do as incidental, not dedicated, exercise. Just as you go about your day. Then upping it as much as is sustainable. I really do think that being as active as possible (at a normal, go about your business pace) over the week is much better than being sedentary with a few spurts of more full on activity.

Hello all, so I got into an ugly competition with my little brother who is 13 years younger than me. He got his new fitbit about 10 days ago and he is trying very hard to beat me, so far unsuccessfully but he is getting close, so I had to increase my daily target. You see, we are both very competitive
Well in spite of falling short of my daily goal for the past few weeks, I still earned another badge. It was the 747 badge. Apparently, I have climbed the distance in stairs that a 747 flys. Wow!
Not shaping up to be a good week for steps, but hoping my 5:2 doesn't suffer as well...
The activity score was something fitbit was going to discontinue...in fact they did eliminate it off the new dashboard when it came out several months ago. But it still shows up in the groups. The fewer periods of non-activity you have throughout the day, the higher your score will be. It encourages you to "move" a little more often.
Wishing everyone a great week!

Not sure whether this has been discussed but how accurate do you think the 'calories burned' are on the fitbit? It knows how active you are, your weight and height so does it work?
Well I had perfectly horrid Saturday! I broke my leg near my ankle almost 2 years ago and it is now weather sensitive or I am going nuts! A cold front came through on Saturday and my ankle ached every time I walked on it, barely got 2000 steps in. Sunday, the front was gone and I did around 9000 just fine, stairs and all. I will be tested more this week as 2 fronts are scheduled to come through. I hope this doesn't feel as bad every time!
Anyone else have a situation like this? Suggestions welcomed!

Awww Debbie! Would some "Ugg" style boots help? They keep my calves, ankles and feet nice and toastie.
