Local parkrun was canceled due to ice so we went home, had a bite to eat and waited for the thaw. Then ran 5km around the estate, without walking, without trekking pole, in 30:47. MrsPete was only 30 seconds faster so next Saturday will be a close thing!
Only 9 weeks since I came out of hospital so very pleased...

Wow, that's fantastic Pete, you must be thrilled! A very impressive recovery and hope for all of us who will undergo operations in future.

Another canceled parkrun due to a light snow covering. Nearly didn't bother but we met a couple who were going to run anyway but did not know the course so we jogged around with them. Ran the whole way, but with a couple if catch-up stops so as not to lose our new friends, in just under 33 mins despite the apparent slipperiness, which turned out to be OK. The only hip pain now comes from my other one!

@creakypete Nice to see you posting here. Didn't appreciate you had been in hospital. Hope you are on the mend. You have given me inspiration to see if I can start running again without triggering the old hip injury.

Well done Pete, our parktun also cancelled due to snow.
Loads of people still ran the course anyway, me included.

I'm in serious marathon training for 22nd March and have got injured  - fortunately it isn't the meniscus again, but a tendonitis. Saw the physio today after a kind of ultrasound painful hammer drill thing he did this evening I feel a lot better. One week without running will be torture. But it will maybe do some good, I think I was nearing the overtraining limit for my capabilies. I should be doing 4 x a week not 6!

Oh no! Take care, Franglaise. Believe me, I know the agony of not running. I've not been since November.

Anyway, I came to post this interesting article about slow runners/jiggers and longevity: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/02/0 ... ore-iphone

Great news for me, the slowest runner on the planet! Thanks, @MaryAnn!

Parkrun today went really well, first time under 26 minutes. Happy with that. ☺

Well done brian1 - now an interesting contest between you and Simon Egan to get under 25 minutes!
Our parkrun went well today also - MrsPete got a pb for that course in 28:15, I managed to get under 30 mins for the first time since my op with 27:32, which in percentage terms is fractionally better than the last run before the op so I have to be pleased with that!
Mrs still 8% better despite losing in the race though...

I'm on it. Hopefully Sub-25 will be obliterated in Mid March. Just been ticking over for the last few months and started training properly at the start of Feb.
Your recovery from your op has been amazing.
